A woman who claimed she had married her stepdad while boasting it was the ‘best decision she had ever made’ has shared the real story behind how she and her husband got together.
Florida-based TikToker Christy, who uses the handle @christywho_, caused quite the stir online after a video of her Vegas wedding last year ended up going viral online.
The short clip showed the couple canoodling in the chapel after saying their I do’s, but it was the caption that caused a problem rather than their PDA.
The footage of the mum-of-three wrapping her legs around her new hubby and giving him a good old snog was also accompanied by on-screen text which read: “Marrying my stepdad was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
As well as this, Christy chucked in a few eye-popping hashtags for good measure, such as ‘#marryyourmomsex’, ‘#agegap’ and ‘#itsworthit’.
Social media users were obviously left stunned by her post, prompting people to flood the comment section under the video – which has a whopping 25.5 million views – with their thoughts.

One simply said: “Excuse me, what?”
Another wrote: “Some things are better left unsaid. This is one of those things.”
A third added: “There’s 7 billion people in the world. Why?”
While a fourth chimed in: “Wait…she slid in there and snatched her mom’s man?”
Naturally, people were pretty curious about how Christy ended up rolling around the sheets and eventually walking down the aisle with a bloke who her mother was apparently dating first.
She ended up sharing a follow-up video last year answering some of the most common questions she had received, while doubling down on her comments about her stepdad-turned-spouse.

“Let’s clear some things up,” Christy said. “Was I ‘groomed’? No.
“Was I minor when I met him? No. Did my stepdad raise me? No. Do me and my mom still talk? Yes. Did he have kids with my mom? No.”
After answering all those burning questions, the content creator was once again on the receiving end of some backlash from those who disapproved of her getting hitched to a man who she claimed was her stepfather.
She seemed to relish in riling up internet users for a few weeks, but Christy then finally came clean about the origin of her relationship in another TikTok video while warning it was ‘not as interesting as the other story’.
The mum revealed that she had actually been brought together with her husband through tragedy, following the death of her beloved older brother Shaun Christopher Harris.
Christy explained that she and her sibling ‘did everything together’ and were inseparable until he got into a fatal motorcycle accident and passed away.
She later revealed she had been joking and shared the poignant story of how her late brother brought them together (TikTok/@christywho_)
Following his death, she began to grow close with Shaun’s best friend and eventually began dating him although ‘no one thought they would last’.
In the video, Christy said: “Soon after, we got pregnant with our first daughter together, Kali Shine…named after my brother.
“Then came our first son Kash Christopher, who was also named after him.”
The mum said she and her partner had decided to get wed in Las Vegas so they could have a big wedding ‘later down the road’.
Christy explained she found out that she was pregnant with her second daughter, Krue Reign, the day after her nuptials.
“Now y’all can leave my kids and brother alone,” she captioned the clip.
The US woman told the New York Post she had only intended to have a laugh with her husband and poke fun at their 16-year age gap with her initial video.
“I also wanted to prove that everyone will be upset and believe anything they see on the internet nowadays,” Christy added.
“They were mad when I ‘married my stepdad,’ and they were mad when I posted my real story and found out that it wasn’t actually my stepdad. The internet feeds on the drama.
“The amount of death threats I received, wishing that my children were born without arms and legs and they were glad my brother had died, and they wanted to call [child protective services] on me.
“It was absolutely insane.”
LADbible has contacted Christy for further comment.

This model has a relationship with a man that is almost 20 years older than her and as you can imagine, her parents had something to say about it.
Just 28, Emily Downing met her significant other following a yoga class in 2018, before sealing the deal in November 2023.
Based in Los Angeles, USA, the happy couple even have a TikTok account where they share aspects of their life to their thousands of followers.
Emily’s partner, 47-year-old Michael Stomatuk, was drawn to her ‘natural beauty’ and skills in the studio, prompting him to ask for her phone number.
The couple have been married since last year. (Instagram/em_stomatuk)
He was the first to make a move with a compliment about her yoga practice, and despite both admitting that they got on like a house on fire from the get go, Emily, who would have been 22 at the time, said that she was wary of the gap in age between the two, according to The Sun.
After some time though, she swapped numbers with Michael, who was then 41.
He found that she was easy to get along with and sweet, while she also thought that he had a decent sense of humour.
Michael admitted that they ‘knew there was a connection’ but that due to a previous relationship of his and the looming age gap, they both didn’t dive head-on into the prospect of a serious relationship.
But, as expected, Emily’s parents had a strong opinion on the relationship, and when she announced their news to them, they were not pleased.
She explained how they felt after they met for the first time: “My parents were concerned.”

Emily further explained: “But there was one thing my dad said to me when he found out I was still seeing Michael,
“He said, ‘I raised you better than this’. It was a dagger to the heart.”
According to Michael, they had been friends for a year and slowly moved towards a relationship, as they realised that their levels of maturity were similar.
As the pandemic hit though, they became a serious couple, and her parents have not had any issues with the relationship since.
To get there though, Emily admitted that she had to ‘train some of the f*** boy out of him’.
Their first date consisted of them walking the model’s dog around the area, talking for more than three hours.
Michael and Emily built on their initial strong physical and emotional attraction before going serious in 2020, announcing it to friends and family.
The pair have been married since last year.

A woman who ended up in around £30,000 worth of debt after being targeted by a romance scam explained how her husband-to-be reacted when she started picking apart his story.
Megan Clarke was swept off her feet while working in a bar on the Isle of Wight in 2017 by a handsome stranger who very quickly made his interest in her clear.
Flowers started appearing at her workplace and she was showered with expensive gifts from a man she knew as ‘Lord Bertie Underwood’, who claimed to be a descendant of the inventor of the Underwood typewriter.
Within a month she’d moved into his home, which had pictures of the typewriter up around the place, and a few months later as they spent their first Christmas together he popped the question.
Just a couple of months before she was set to walk down the aisle, Megan’s apparent fairy tale romance started falling apart.
Megan said his ‘attitude changed instantly’ after she started asking questions. (Channel 4)
Letters that weren’t addressed to either Megan or ‘Lord Bertie’ started being delivered to their home, and when she asked who these people were he brushed it off by claiming they were likely previous occupants.
However, her suspicions were aroused and she wisely decided not to leave it there, leading her to uncover multiple bank cards registered under different names.
When she brought it up with her future husband, she explained on the Channel 4 show Love Cheats that he ‘changed instantly’ in reaction to her questioning.
She said: “I did ask Bertie about these cards and his attitude changed instantly.
“He shut it down quite quickly and got very defensive and irate. My heart was racing, my palms were sweaty.
“It’s definitely when I started questioning everything.”

His reaction convinced her that something was up and Megan started Googling the names of the people this post for supposed previous occupants was meant for, finding multiple news articles about him pulling cons.
Even worse, letters started to arrive about credit card debt and loans taken out in Megan’s name.
The man she was going to marry told her he really did love her and never meant for things to get so far, but after that she hasn’t seen him in person.
She went to the police, but many of the transactions were put down to domestic issues due to the relationship between them and she was stuck having to try and pay off thousands in debt herself.
Hoping that she could alert others to this scammer, she posted his picture online and explained what had happened to her, with the post going viral and Megan being inundated with people sharing their own experiences.
She had ‘multiple men contact me’ and say that ‘Bertie’, real name Robert Madejski, had been sleeping with them.
Though sentenced to five years in prison on other charges of fraud in 2022, Madejski escaped and has been on the run since then.

A grandmother married to a man 37 years her junior has hosted a gender reveal party as she gets ready to welcome her eighth child.
Cheryl McGregor, 63, from Georgia in the US, met her husband Quran McCain back in 2012.

Cheryl is already a mum-of-seven – and has 17 grandchildren – but is now getting ready to become a parent once again, this time via surrogacy.
To celebrate, Cheryl and Quran have hosted a gender reveal party, complete with confetti and smoke canons.
They have since shared a video online, in which the mum is wearing a pink dress and a mummy-to-be sash.
After setting off the canons, they discovered they are having a baby girl.
Speaking about their relationship, Cheryl has previously said: “We understand that I may not be there for as long as Quran is, but I have faith in him.
“If I am not here, he can do it. He’s gonna be a great father, he’s a responsible adult. I had every bit of faith that he could raise our child, and do it very well.
“Our family is also very supportive of our decision to have children. At first they were hesitant for the same reasons.
“However, now five of my children have come to accept the idea, and my mother-in-law and I make videos together.”
The pair were overjoyed to be having a girl. (Media Drum World)
The happy couple first met in 2012 but their romance didn’t blossom until many years later, when they reconnected in 2020.
They began dating and were married the following year, before setting up a TikTok account to document their journey, as well as an OnlyFans for their adult content.
“People on social media have a lot of hate for us. They say I’m dating my grandmother,” Quran previously said.
“I am not. She is younger than my grandmother. We are no different from any other couple – love is love.
“No matter what they say or do, it can’t hurt us. We know the stuff that they say isn’t true, and they believe it. We feel sorry for them.
“We get a lot of hate, but it doesn’t phase us. At the end of the day, we still got each other, and that’s all that matters.”
Despite some of the trolling the couple receive, many people have been rushing to congratulate the pair following their exciting baby news.
One person said: “Why can’t some people be happy for others, why all the hateful comments congrats queen.”
Another user added: “That’s so cute. And y’all need to stop judging people without knowing their story first.”

We all know that stag dos have a bit of a bad reputation, but to sleep with your bride-to-be’s best friend? Well, that really takes the biscuit.
Now, who doesn’t love a good stag or hen do? Sending off soon-to-be newly weds into married life by having one final blow out, whether that’s jetting off to a sunny location for a few days and drinking copious pina coladas, or keeping it simple by having one too many at the local boozer.
But sadly, not all stags and hens end with just a bit of a hangover as one unfortunate bride recently found out.
The Australian woman, known only as Sophie, sent in her nightmare of a story to the podcast Everybody Has A Secret, leaving the hosts and listeners absolutely shell-shocked.

In the letter Sophie sent in, which was also posted on TikTok, she started by getting straight to the point, saying: “Last week my best friend Maddie admitted to me that she had sex with my husband at his bucks [bachelor] party.”
She went on: “As you can imagine, I’m devastated. My husband Tom and I have been married for 18 months and I had absolutely no idea that there were any issues in our relationship, let alone that he was capable of this level of deception.”
Sophie explained how Maddie had been the Maid of Honor at her wedding, and that they had been best friends for 20 years – meaning they were incredibly close, enough to know how many men each of them had slept with.
On a recent night out with several other girl friends, Maddie slipped up, saying she had had sex with 19 over the course of her lifetime, instead of 18.
“As soon as she said that, I corrected her,” Sophie said. “She drunkenly said, ‘No, mine is 19’. She clearly realised in that moment she had made a mistake, because she tried to pathetically backtrack, but she was too inebriated to do it convincingly.

“In this moment I thought she’d probably just exposed herself for cheating on her partner Jack and was embarrassed.”
Sophie explained how later in the evening, she pulled Maddie aside to try and get more information out of her, with her telling her so-called friend she ‘wouldn’t judge if she cheated on Jack’.
After getting tearful and repeatedly saying ‘it was a mistake’, Maddie then confessed that the man she had cheated on Jack with was none other than Tom – Sophie’s new husband.
Oh, and it was on the night of his stag do too.
In the shock of the moment, Sophie admitted she slapped Maddie across the face and stormed out.
In the conclusion of the letter, the heartbroken wife said her friend has been inundating her with calls, but she’s yet to answer them.
Her husband is also currently abroad on a business trip and while she said she plans on divorcing him, she’s yet to confront him about his betrayal.
After asking for advice on how to confront her husband, podcast listeners took to the comments on TikTok to share their thoughts, with one penning: “I would tell Maddie’s partner IMMEDIATELY! He deserves to know the truth.”
Another said: “Scorched earth. Just leave, divorce papers on the counter with a PO BOX or lawyers address.”
And a third wrote: “Have a surprise welcome-home party and tell him in front of all his close friends and family.”
