When you think of WWE, there’s those key stars who always stand out.
Of course, there’s Hulk Hogan to John Cena and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin to Andre the Giant but obviously, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has to be up there.
‘The People’s Champion’ has been with the wrestling promotion since 1996, back when it was WWF (World Wrestling Federation), and currently sits on the board of directors for TKO Group Holdings.
Sure, he had some time away from wrestling, but it feels like ‘The Great One’ has never left and he tells LADbible that he’ll always ‘happily’ go back to WWE.
“I feel like it’s in my blood,” the Teremana founder says. And in a way, that’s kind of true.
Johnson is the first third-generation Superstar in WWE history, something ‘a lot of people know, and a lot don’t’ is that the 52-year-old’s grandad, Peter Maivia ‘used to wrestle for WWE, for Vince McMahon’s dad’.
And then, in the 70’s, his dad, Rocky Johnson, ‘came along and wrestled for’ McMahon.
“I came along in the 90s and wrestled for Vince into the 2000s, so there’s some real connective tissue that goes back generations,” he explains.

The Rock really does have love for wrestling and WWE: “And for that I will forever be grateful, because it provided me a platform and a way to express myself in ways that nothing else would allow, other than acting.
“So the opportunity for me to become a director, sit on the board, take that position, is just another way that I could help the company grow.”
Having returned to the ring earlier this year to become The Final Boss, Johnson adds: “Any opportunity I can to go back and not only make appearances, but help to expand the company, whether domestically or globally, I always go back.
“And it’s also part of my obligation that I happily do.”
This commitment to legacy is something the dad-of-three has quite literally embossed into his tequila company, Teremana which launched in the UK earlier this year.
Tequila on The Rock (Teremana)
Johnson says when he created the brand, his interest wasn’t ‘hey, let me create a brand, and maybe in 10, 15 years from now, I can turn it around and sell it to a large company, and then I ride off into the sunset’.
Instead, he explains: “I really wanted to create a legacy brand that was around well after I’m gone, but it was around for my family.”
So, on the bottom of every bottle of Teremana there’s the embossed word ‘TIJASI’
“This is the first two letters of my daughter’s first names, Tiana, Jasmine and Simone,” he says. “So, at the bottom of every bottle, this will give you an idea of how this is a legacy brand.”
Tequila on The Rock(s) anyone?
Dwayne Johnson’s Teremana tequila is available in three expressions, Blanco, Reposado and Añejo, in Tesco, Selfridges and Amazon.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson decided to dress as a meme of himself for Christmas. Why not, eh?
As fans may remember, the 51-year-old actor went viral a few years back after someone unearthed an old photograph of him wearing a particularly snazzy outfit, complete with gold chain worn over his polo neck and a rather fetching bumbag. You can see him recreate the look here:
No stranger to poking fun at himself, Johnson has revived the outfit in the past and, for a Christmas treat for us all, he’s done it again.
Posting the clip to his Instagram, Johnson wrote: “Merry Christmas, from your keepin’ it [100 emoji] friend. 90’s Rock.” He also included the hashtag #TappinFannys, which I think doesn’t translates very well to the UK.
In the clip, he shows off the outfit in full while singing the festive hit The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole.
As you can imagine, his fans went wild for the clip and its quickly racked up more than two million ‘likes’.

Earlier this year, the former WWE star was left less than impressed after a French museum made a waxwork of him.
The Grevin Museum in Paris, but fans were quick to point out that something was ‘off’ about the star.
“Not one of your best guys – considering the quality of the rest of the museum, there’s something not right about the sculpt on this,” said one person on Instagram.
Another added: “Is it a little pale or is it the lighting?”
A third wrote: “It doesn’t look like him at all!”

Some pointed to the skin tone, whereas others thought it resembled Channing Tatum or Vin Diesel more than The Rock.
Johnson weighed in on the matter himself, posting on Instagram to say he would be getting in touch with the museum to request ‘updates’ to the wax work.
“For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements- starting with my skin color,” he said on Instagram.
“And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself.”

The Grevin Museum, which is home to hundreds of wax works, admitted that the Johnson figure wasn’t one of its best.
The museum said in a statement to Deadline: “Dwayne Johnson is right and we noticed it and will obviously remedy it as quickly as possible and send him new photos once completed.
“We are waiting for him when he will come to Paris and the Grevin Wax Museum to celebrate that with a cup of champagne.”

The Rock was met with boos yesterday after launching a blistering rant at fans – dubbing them ‘trailer park trash’.
The decision for The Rock – real name Dwayne Johnson – to return to WWE had been met with some hesitation by fans.
It all kicked off after rumours began to swirl that The Rock was set to take on Roman Reigns in a fight that many thought should have been between Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and fans hoped to see him ‘finish his story’ at WrestleMania 40, with one saying the decision to change up the fight was ‘the biggest misstep in history’.
However, no-one was prepared for how things panned out last night as the legendary wrestler turned his back on fans and officially joined The Bloodline.
WWE
On Friday Night SmackDown this week, the wrestler channelled his ‘Hollywood Rock’ persona in a Versace vest and fancy sunnies before releasing a scathing attack on the gathered fans in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Making a change from his usual crowd-pleasing act, The Rock said: “You broke the all-time record for the largest gathering of trailer park trash The Rock has ever seen.”
Ouch. And he didn’t stop there.
He went on: “Finally your life has meaning! Finally you and your 50 wives will have a story to tell and you know what I’m talking about.
“You’ll have a story to tell your 600 inbred grandchildren one day and that is what it’s like to look at greatness in the flesh because finally The Rock has come back to Salt Lake City!”
The Rock was quick to slam the ‘Cody crybabies’ who demanded that the fight between Rhodes and Reign take place at the expense of him taking on Reigns himself.
WWE
He hit out: “You flushed it down the toilet. The same toilet you sat your fat asses on and you sat there and tweeted ‘We want Cody! We want Cody! Cody’s gotta finish his story! He’s gotta finish his story!’
“You’re laughing now and you’re booing because it’s true.”
As you can imagine, the fans were less than impressed with The Rock’s display and boos rung out through the crowd – but he made it clear that he was returning as a very different wrestler from the one fans may have been used to.
“Sing-along with The Rock is over,” he said.
“You lost that privilege. Sit there and shut your mouth and enjoy the ride that The Rock is taking you on!
“If ya smell what The Bloodline is cookin’!”

CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS… doing in the corner of a gym with a water bottle near his nether regions?
One look at Dwayne Johnson will tell you how determined he is to keep fit – but a lot of fans weren’t aware that he even bathroom breaks play second fiddle to his intense workouts.
The former WWE wrestler, 51, can’t drag himself away from the gym equipment even just for a few minutes to relieve himself, despite the fact he swigs numerous bottles of water to stay hydrated.
He doesn’t cross his legs ridiculously tightly while pumping iron to hold it in though, as he’s found another bizarre solution to making the most of every second he gets to exercise.
For who knows what reason, Johnson decided to share his life hack with the world and admitted that he urinates in his water bottles while he is at the gym.
During an interview with Esquire in 2021, the actor discussed his strict diet and exercise regimen as well as what he reckons are the most important aspect of working out, one of which is making sure he always drinks plenty.

The Rock explained: “I usually stay pretty hydrated. I need to go to the bathroom a lot.
“Not a lot, but probably a couple of times during a workout I have to go to the bathroom. So I break out the bottle.”
Yep, he even has a little catchphrase to describe his solution to getting rid of a full bladder in the gym, too.
Johnson continued: “I do pee in my water bottles, but let me give context to that.
“It’s not a water bottle that I’ve actually purchased solely for water that you wash and you clean when you’re done using it.
“These are just bottles that I’m no longer using and usually the gyms that I workout in don’t have a bathroom because they’re the iron paradise. It’s just hot, sweaty and dirty.”

Although you may think a celebrity of his stature would be a regular at one of the most prestige fitness facilities the world has to offer, he claims that the majority of the ones he frequents do not have bathrooms.
God help those who need a number two after a squat session.
People were obviously left quite shocked by Johnson’s bold admission and some social media users were also left pretty sickened by the thought of him peeing into a water bottle.
One said: “That was too much information… What ‘facilities’ could possibly not have a bathroom? Also, it’s very difficult to pee in a water bottle. Maybe Gatorade, but water… no way.”
Another wrote: “Did we all really need to know about this? Isn’t anything kept personal anymore?”
A third joked: “This man can afford anything he wants… except a bathroom.”
A fourth added: “How can a gym not have a bathroom? I’ve never been to one that doesn’t include a shower and a bathroom. I like how this is cool because it’s the Rock, but anyone else would be met with disgust.”
And a fifth chimed in: “You could see he didn’t wanna talk about the water bottle situation. Weird bringing it up.”

When wrestler Mark Kerr met Dwayne Johnson in real life for the first time, it must have been like looking into a mirror at his younger self – as The Rock seems to have somehow managed to morph into him.
The 6ft 5in actor, 52, has just teamed up with the legendary sportsman he is about to play in The Smashing Machine to finish up his training camp, which he reckons was the perfect way to ‘complete’ his preparation for the role.
He will star in the new biographical drama, based on Kerr’s glittering career in the ring and cage, alongside the likes of Emily Blunt, Lyndsey Gavin and recently-titled undisputed heavyweight champion, Olesksandr Usyk.
The Smashing Machine, which is set to release sometime next year, is directed by director Benny Safdie, who is best known for his work on the likes of Uncut Gems and Good Time.
Before beginning his training camp last month, Johnson told fans the film will centre on the life of Kerr, who he described as ‘the heavyweight godfather of MMA and UFC’ and ‘at one time was the greatest fighter on the planet’.
In a video uploaded to Instagram, the WWE star said: “He was an absolute animal and a beast.
“He struggled with addiction, he struggled with success, he struggled with loss, he struggled with love.
“A lot of struggles in his life. But he lived, and is still living, the most extraordinary dream-come-true kind of life and it is an honour for me to play him.

]”I want to make sure that I wake up every morning and that I run to this opportunity to become Mark Kerr,” he concluded.
The Rock said he would be working with UFC ‘legends and coaches’ to ensure that he ‘does right by Mark’ as well as the MMA and UFC ‘community and culture’ – which is a good job really, as he’s got some pretty big shoes to fill.
Ohio-born Kerr was a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion, World Vale Tudo Championship tournament winner and a PRIDE FC competitor, as well as a gold medal winner at the Wrestling World Cup.
So it was only right that the former athlete, 55, joined Johnson in the gym to show him how it was done.
But there’s another added benefit to The Rock taking on this role – the fact that he looks the absolute double of Kerr in his younger years in the first promotional picture to be released of the movie.

The former wrestling champ and his wife, fitness consulter Franci Alberding, seem to agree too, as they both reposted the jaw dropping image onto their Instagram stories alongside the caption: “So wild.”
The snap shows Johnson sat in the corner of the ring – but gone are his trademark tattoos and bald head.
It is thought that the actor is sporting a wig and prosthetics to help transform himself into Kerr, and by god, it looks like the makeup team need a raise. Talk about understanding the assignment.
Johnson gushed about their time training together in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday (21 May), while revealing that filming for The Smashing Machine was beginning this week.
He wrote: “My training camp became complete when the man himself, Mark Kerr @markkerrtsm trained with us.
“He’s still a f*cking machine, that can close the distance with scary speed and power. I’ll forever be grateful to the core for our his invaluable knowledge he’s been gracious enough to pass onto me and especially for the brotherhood we share.
“Locking up with Mark, and feeling his press and power – it’s no surprise he was an NCAA, UFC & VALE TUDO Heavyweight Champion. That’s the A side to success. The B side tells a whole other story.”
