A fisherman who became stranded at sea has shared how he managed to survive after he became adrift without food or water.
José Salvador Alvarenga’s 438-day ordeal adrift in the Pacific Ocean stands as a harrowing testament to human endurance and ingenuity.
Alvarenga, a seasoned Mexican fisherman, embarked on what was supposed to be a routine fishing trip on November 18, 2012, with 22-year-old Ezequiel Córdoba.
Initially, the trip was promising. However, as a storm began to brew, the decision to continue fishing proved disastrous. Waves inundated their boat’s engine, and they were swept further away from the shore.
For a week, the storm ravaged them, and when it finally subsided, they found themselves adrift with minimal supplies.
In an interview with former U.S. Ambassador to the Marshall Islands, Tom Armbruster, Alvarenga recounted the extreme measures taken to survive. Without fresh water or food, their survival depended on resourcefulness. “We drank the rainwater we collected in plastic bottles,” Alvarenga said, describing how they gathered more than 70 bottles to store the precious liquid once it began to rain.
The rainwater was a welcome reprieve from being forced to drink their own urine to survive, per The Guardian.
Alvarenga and Córdoba initially consumed sea turtles and drank their blood, which Alvarenga noted provided significant energy and nutrition. “The blood is extremely healthy and gives you energy,” he shared. They also caught and ate small sharks, utilizing the nutritious liver for sustenance.
But recalling the initial hunger, Alvarenga recalled: “I was so hungry that I was eating my own fingernails, swallowing all the little pieces,” Alvarenga told writer Jonathan Franklin.
The fisherman also recalled scooping jellyfish from the sea and swallowing them whole. “It burned the top part of my throat, but wasn’t so bad,” he said.
Their situation grew even more desperate as they drifted further from land. To maintain a food supply, they resorted to catching birds that landed on their boat. They would wait patiently, strike when the birds were within reach, and break their wings to collect them. This method provided a continued, albeit grim, source of nourishment.
The psychological toll of their ordeal was immense. Alvarenga revealed that maintaining mental fortitude was crucial for survival. “The best meals of my life were those imaginary meals I had at sea,” he told Franklin, author of 438 Days. Alvarenga also found solace in mental escapism, vividly imagining sumptuous feasts and intimate moments. “The best sex I had in my life was the imaginary sex,” he said, highlighting how imagination served as a crucial survival mechanism.
Tragically, Córdoba had become depresses and seriously ill after consuming a contaminated raw seabird.
“He asked me to tell his mother that he was sad he could not say goodbye and that she shouldn’t make any more tamales for him – they should let him go, that he had gone with God,” Alvarenga said.
Tragically, Córdoba died shortly after.
“I propped him up to keep him out of the water. I was afraid a wave might wash him out of the boat,” Alvarenga recalled. “I cried for hours.”
Córdoba death meant that Alvarenga was left to face the vast ocean alone.
Alvarenga described his loneliness and the subsequent hallucinations, including conversations with his deceased companion – asking how he had slept or if he enjoyed his breakfast.

Although he considered ending his own life, Alvarenga revealed that he was afraid to do so as his mom had always told him that those who do so don’t get into heaven – instilling in him a fear that resulted in his survival.
Despite several encounters with potential rescue opportunities, including a shipping container that passed without noticing him, Alvarenga’s hope was eventually restored. On January 30, 2014, after more than a year adrift, he reached a small islet in the Marshall Islands. There, he found a local beach house where he was finally able to secure help.
Alvarenga’s incredible journey from November 2012 to his rescue in January 2014 remains one of the most extraordinary survival stories of the 21st century, illustrating both the physical and mental challenges of enduring such an ordeal.

Woman who claimed to have ‘married her stepdad’ shares more details about their relationship
By Nasima Khatun
A woman who claimed to have “married her stepdad” has opened up about the shocking details of her marriage.
Christy, from Florida, took to social media last year to discuss the workings of her relationship and it’s recently gone viral again and caused a stir online.
The content creator posted a video talking about her husband – who she claimed was also her stepfather at one point – and the wedding they had in Vegas.
The clip, which has now been viewed over 25.5. million times, showed the mom-of-three with her legs wrapped around her man while giving him kisses alongside a text overlay that read: “Marrying my stepdad was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
This was accompanied by some pretty shocking hashtags that read: “#marryyourmomsex”, “#agegap”, and “#itsworthit”.
Of course, TikTok users couldn’t help but take to the comments and express their shock at what they had just witnessed.
“I thought I read that wrong or I was too h*gh but nope,” wrote one user, while another added: “Wait… She slid in there and snatched her moms man.”
“No side eye here I’m full on head straight judging,” a third commented.
And perhaps the most common type of comment read: “What in the sweet home Alabama is going on here.”

Those types of comments did not stop Christy from sharing further details about their relationship in a follow-up video.
“Let’s clear some things up,” Christy said in a separate clip. “Was I ‘groomed’? No. Was I minor when I met him? No. Did my stepdad raise me? No. Do me and my mom still talk? Yes. Did he have kids with my mom? No.”
She also talked about how the pair got together.
Chrissy opened up about losing her brother Shaun Christopher Harris, who was also her “best friend.”
Following his death, she began to grow close with Shaun’s best friend – not her stepfather – and eventually began dating him although “no one thought they would last.”
“Soon after, we got pregnant with our first daughter together, Kali Shine…named after my brother,” the mom said. “Then came our first son Kash Christopher, who was also named after him.”
Christy explained she found out that she was pregnant with her second daughter, Krue Reign, the day after her nuptials in Vegas.
“Now y’all can leave my kids and brother alone,” she captioned the clip.
She said that she originally posted that it was someone who her mother had dated as a joke to poke fun at the pair’s 16-year age gap.
That didn’t stop the barrage of hate though.
“I also wanted to prove that everyone will be upset and believe anything they see on the internet nowadays,” Christy said. “They were mad when I ‘married my stepdad,’ and they were mad when I posted my real story and found out that it wasn’t actually my stepdad. The internet feeds on the drama.”
She continued: “The amount of death threats I received, wishing that my children were born without arms and legs and they were glad my brother had died, and they wanted to call [child protective services] on me.
“It was absolutely insane,” she added.
Just to confirm once again, Chrissy is not married to her stepdad, she is just in an age-gap relationship.

Dating expert reveals the one ‘red flag’ line you need to listen out for from your partner
By Kim Novak
A dating expert has revealed the one tell-tale phrase that means you should be wary of a potential partner – and it’s something that’s all too common to hear.
Dating can be difficult at the best of times – from scouring the apps to find someone who actually wants a real connection among the many people just seeking hook-ups, to getting past the honeymoon stage and actually still liking each other at the end of it – and it turns out sometimes even the people that seem perfect aren’t actually all that.
And sometimes, the person you’ve been seeing might just exhibit behavior that gives you the ick – or a big fat red flag that makes you think twice about seeing them again.
Dating expert Louanne Ward, who is a ‘Master Certified Matchmaker’, has revealed one such instance that should have you running for the hills.
One particular phrase can be a massive red flag in relationships. Credit: Vladimir Vladimirov/Getty Images
Louanne, who shares love advice with her followers on Instagram, shared one clip telling daters: “If you hear this line, get out now!”
She explained: “When somebody says, ‘I don’t want to hurt you’, what they’re really saying is that they believe you have more feelings for them than what they have for you.”
Well, that’s a pretty devastating blow, given that most of us have probably heard that particular line in the past.
According to Louanne, if the person was “committed” to the relationship and “saw you as a future potential” there shouldn’t be any need for them to worry that they would inevitably “hurt you” during the course of your time together.
She explained: “The simple fact is, if someone doesn’t see you as potential for a long-term relationship, and they don’t have strong enough feelings for you, they can see that they’re potentially going to hurt you.
“And they’ve probably been guilty of doing this before.”
She added that the use of the phrase may also have an ulterior motive of making them come across as a “nice, caring, kind person”, when in reality they know they’re going to ultimately do you dirty in the long run.
“They don’t have to feel guilty about it,” she revealed. “Because they warned you, ‘I don’t want to hurt you’.
“If you hear that line, ‘I don’t want to hurt you’, it is time for you to get serious and ask yourself, ‘What am I doing with this person?’”
Louanne warned: “If they don’t see you as somebody that they want to have a relationship with, and they can end it at some point.”
Her theory is, if someone isn’t planning to hurt you, they wouldn’t have any reason to warn you of that. Credit: Witthaya Prasongsin/Getty Images
She added that people who “don’t have intention of ending it” would never have a reason to want to say that line in the first place in the earlier stages of the relationship.
So, in a nutshell, if they’re saying they don’t want to hurt you, the likelihood is that they believe that they will end up hurting you in the long run and want to preemptively take some of the burden of guilt off themselves when it eventually does happen.
Consider yourself warned…

Adult star Bonnie Blue shares defiant response after almost 20,000 people sign petition to have her deported from Australia
By James Kay
Bonnie Blue has become aware of a popular petition that was started to have her deported from Australia.
You’re probably aware of Bonnie by now, as she developed a reputation that began last year when she famously slept with 122 men over the course of three weeks during Spring Break.
Since then, Bonnie has parlayed this attention into a successful career, adding escorting to her professional portfolio.
Now, she’s reportedly gearing up to attempt a world record: the most intimate encounters within a single day, a record currently held at 948.
She often titles her videos by admitting to sleeping with “barely legal” men, which is a point of contention for some people.
Bonnie shares a lot of her interactions on Instagram and TikTok – without the adult part obviously.
It’s evident that she’s amassed quite a substantial following with 138,000 followers on Instagram alone.
And this level of following has got some people concerned…
Bonnie recently issued a public invitation for young Schoolies participants on the Gold Coast to join her at the Meriton in Surfers Paradise, sparking a wave of criticism.
Schoolies in Australia is a week-long celebration for recent high-school graduates who will presumably be just over 18.
The recent Schoolies stunt has led to widespread outcry, with community members petitioning for the adult entertainer to be banned from the country.
The petition on Change.org, now nearing 20,000 signatures, claims Bonnie is “preying” on young men and using the opportunity to create explicit content that many feel crosses ethical lines.
At the time of writing, the petition stands at 19,936 signatures.
The petition’s organizers argue that Bonnie’s presence poses risks for young attendees at Schoolies and want her visa to be canceled, meaning she would have to leave the country.

“This is her sole working job while living in Australia from the UK. How is she contributing to our society?” the petition states. “Many parents are already concerned about their children’s safety at Schoolies, and this only heightens those fears.”
Despite the backlash, Bonnie has responded defiantly, arguing that her activities are entirely within legal bounds, per News.com.au.
“I receive backlash for sleeping with barely legal 18-year-olds, but the key word in that sentence is ‘legal,’” she said in a statement. “Rather than comment on my TikToks, people should complain to the government to increase the age from 18 to 21. I’m only complying with Australian law. If it rises to 21, I will then film with barely legal 21-year-olds.”
She also highlighted the safeguards she has in place, including consent documentation, ID verification, and breathalyzer tests for participants.
“Even when my videos are completely legal, with written consent and verification, the complaints persist,” she said, dismissing critics as “Karens”.
In response to criticisms labeling her behavior as predatory, Bonnie maintained that her content promotes safe practices and education.
“I understand people may not agree with the content I make; however, that doesn’t make me a predator,” she said.
“Middle-aged women who are giving me hate should be thanking me. I’m educating the younger generation on safe sex, consent, and helping them understand their bodies.”

Boss uses ‘salt and pepper test’ in job interview and won’t hire those who fail
By Asiya Ali
An boss’ so-called “salt and pepper test” has gone viral on social media after one of their employees revealed they wouldn’t hire any candidate who failed it.
Job interviews can be nerve-wracking experiences at the best of times – so how would you feel if you were being judged on more than just the answers to your questions?
And I’m not even talking about your interview attire or manners – I’m talking about the way you eat a meal.

One employee took to Reddit to reveal that one of their bosses would often perform a certain test when it came to interviewing hopefuls for open roles.
They shared that their employer put candidates through a “Salt and Pepper test,” which they believed helped highlight a person’s character.
“A company I used to work for does all-day interviews with multiple people, and one of them is always a lunch interview,” they wrote on the platform, per The Mirror.

“I heard about a guy who would base his entire decision on one thing – whether or not the person he was interviewing tried their food before reaching for salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc,” they continued. “If you didn’t try your food first, you didn’t get a pass from him.”
While the user wasn’t sure why his manager put so much trust into this examination, he believes it must show whether an employee is willing to try something before judging it.
“Glad I didn’t interview with him because I pretty much always add pepper to stuff,” he added.

The manager isn’t the only one who conducts nonsensical tests during a job interview, as Trent Innes, the former boss of Xero Australia, revealed that he also refuses to hire anyone who fails his “coffee cup test”.
Innes explained that the examination showed more about a person’s integrity than any interview question possibly could.
He opened up about this during an interview on the business podcast The Venture, stating: “I will always take you for a walk down to one of our kitchens and somehow you always end up walking away with a drink,” cited by The Mirror.
“Then we take that back, have our interview, and one of the things I’m always looking for at the end of the interview is, does the person doing the interview want to take that empty cup back to the kitchen?” he continued.
You can develop skills, you can gain knowledge and experience but it really does come down to attitude, and the attitude that we talk a lot about is the concept of ‘wash your coffee cup,'” Innes said, adding that the trick works since the kitchens in the office are always very clean.
“If you come into the office one day inside Xero, you’ll see the kitchens are almost always clean and sparkling and it’s very much of that concept of washing your coffee cup. It’s really just making sure that they’re actually going to fit into the culture inside Xero, and really take on everything that they should be doing,” he concluded.
What do you guys think about the odd interview approach?

Woman born with two vaginas makes surprising revelation about the guys she sleeps with
By stefan armitage
A woman born with two vaginas has made a surprising revelation regarding the men she has slept with.
At the age of 16, British woman Annie Charlotte was diagnosed with uterus didelphys.
Per the Mayo Clinic, uterus didelphys is “a rare condition” that can result is come women developing a “double vagina” and/or “a double uterus”. It is often diagnosed after some women find tampons fail to stop menstrual bleeding.
In Annie’s case, she has two vaginas, two uteruses, and two services. Additionally, her condition was discovered by doctors when she was having the contraceptive coil fitted as a teen.
Now aged 25 and Annie has opened up about her sex life.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the OnlyFans star said: “My external stuff is all the same. I have one labia, and then it opens up into two separate vaginas internally, and you have to properly stretch it back to see it.”
She then made the surprising revelation that – despite her condition – most of the guys she’s slept with have never noticed. In fact, she openly asks them.
“I can obviously feel it on myself,” she said. “And I have asked guys in the past after we’ve had sex if they could feel it, but they normally don’t notice it.”
Per the Mirror, Annie – who admits she’s slept with hundreds of guys – added that some men would then even “inspect” her.
Sharing more details about her sex life, Annie revealed that her “right” vagina is larger and more dominant than the left – so most guys usually “go right” when they get down to it.
Sadly, she also says that the medical advice she’s received about living with uterus didelphys has been “subpar” – receiving mixed messages, primarily regarding pregnancy.
“When I was 16, a nurse told me that I was infertile straight away without any diagnosis from a gynecologist,” Annie revealed, with another expert telling her she could carry a child, but could be at risk of “loads of miscarriages”.
“The medical advice always changes – they just don’t really seem to know what on earth is going on,” she told the Daily Star.

Man chopped in half by forklift reveals the one thing he’d change about himself
By Asiya Ali
A man who lost half his body during a horrifying forklift accident has shared one thing he’d change about himself.
Loren Schauers’ life changed forever after he plunged off a bridge while driving a forklift.
In 2019, the builder, who was 19 at the time, fell 50 feet to the ground below and, when he landed, the lower half of his body and one of his arms were crushed.
Doctors were able to save Loren’s life by making him undergo a hemicorporectomy – which is an operation that amputates the entire lower half of a patient’s body. They were also forced to amputate his arm.
Since the devastating accident, the now-23-year-old man launched a shared YouTube channel with his wife Sabia, who has stayed by his side through all his health problems.
The pair use the platform to give viewers a glimpse into their life.
Last month, the resilient couple – who got married in 2021 – shared a video titled, “‘Man Cut in Half” – 5 Years Later'” on the social media platform. In the clip, Loren and Sabia candidly answered the question: “What would you change about yourself?”
While Sabia said she’d “like to quit vaping eventually, and control my hyper-fixating nature,” Loren revealed: “I’d like to quit my smoking habit – obviously – because I’m mainly all lungs now.”
“That way I could prolong my life longer than it’s already been shortened to, given my situation. I wish I could quit. I want to be a better person too, in the way I treat and speak to people,” he added.
Many people took to the comment section to praise Loren and his partner for being open up about the accident and recovery journey.
“I really liked this video because you both were more open with us, and you were not afraid to show your real feelings and real love for each other. Beautiful!” one person penned.
“Thank you for being vulnerable and honest! You guys are beautiful and are making a difference by sharing your story,” a second shared. “Your tenacity your perseverance and the support & love you have for each other is absolutely amazing!” a third added.
While Loren is happy to share details about his life after the horrific incident, there is one thing he and Sabia refuse to discuss: their sex life.
Sabia shared her thoughts about the invasive questions about their private life during an interview with the Daily Star, saying: “A question we get repeatedly is, ‘How do we have sex and how do we become intimate?’
“That is a very personal question that we are never going to answer or allude to, as it’s very disrespectful,” she slammed. “You wouldn’t ask a random couple on the street how they have sex and just because our life circumstances are different, it doesn’t give people the right to ask.”
