Strictly’s Carlos Gu has broken his silence on the reported “shock feud” with his fellow dancer and best friend Nancy Xu.
Last week, it was reported that the pair were “in a feud” which has left everyone on the show “really shocked.”
Reportedly, the two had dramatically fallen out as the ex-best friends have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Nancy and Carlos both grew up in China, and the pair used to be best friends – with the two previously branding each other “brother” and “sister.”
Now, Carlos has broken his silence on the speculation, insisting that he and Nancy “are fine.”
Speaking to The Daily Mail, the dancer confessed: “We’re fine. We’ve been friends since childhood, and friends argue, we’re too close and are like brother and sister to completely fall out.”
This drama is the latest scandal to hit the BBC dance competition show in the past year.
Reports claimed that the rift started after Carlos was disappointed with not getting a dance partner on this year’s series while Nancy has focused on hers.
A source told The Sun: “The feud between Nancy and Carlos is really sad and has left everyone really shocked.”
“They’ve been close since childhood, but have fallen out and unfollowed each other on socials.”
“The atmosphere on set is said to be awkward and tense when both are around, and to many it was a relief when Carlos didn’t attend the show weeks ago.”
“Carlos is said to be subdued after the falling-out and is also struggling with not getting a celebrity partner.”
“His friends are worried about him as he is so far away from his family.”
“He has wiped all pictures of her from his profile and unfollowing each other on Instagram is the ultimate finality in their friendship.”
“With all the other drama in the Clauditorium, it’s the last thing bosses need.”
