The United States witnessed what was arguably the biggest sporting event of the year – Super Bowl 2025. The top prize of the National Football League was up for grabs between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Among the attendees was singer Taylor Swift, who came to support her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce. Not only did his team lose, but Taylor Swift was also ruthlessly booed.
It was reported that Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, suffered a crushing defeat with a score of 22-40. U.S. President Donald Trump was also present at the game, making history as the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl. When Trump was shown on the big screen, the stadium erupted in applause, but when the camera focused on Taylor Swift, she was met with loud boos.
Trump took the opportunity to mock Swift on his social media platform, Truth Social. He wrote, “The only one who had a worse night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She was booed at the stadium. MAGA (Make America Great Again) is very unforgiving!”
Trump also shared footage of Swift being booed from all corners of the stadium, comparing it to the cheers he received when he appeared in the stands before the national anthem.
It’s worth remembering that Taylor Swift had publicly supported the opposition to Trump in the presidential elections, backing Kamala Harris and making her position known through social media.
