The singer, dancer, songwriter, and actor Chris Brown is just 35 years old, but he has managed to make his unique, indelible mark in the music industry. Widely hailed as the King of R&B, Brown is a league above his contemporaries thanks to his seamless blend of pop and R&B and unmatched versatility across genres.

While he has often been compared to Michael Jackson in the past, recently it was the rapper Big Joe who claimed Brown was as good as the King of Pop. Talking about Brown in one of his Instagram lives (via Billboard), he remarked,

If Chris Brown never got into the controversy with Rihanna, we would be calling him Michael Jackson right now… There’s nobody even close to Chris Brown. And it’s time we move past it, it’s been 20-something years. That I know of, there’s no more incidents. Man, we gonna let this lifetime go by without saying the truth?

Referring to the 2009 assault case when Brown was held for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna (when he was just 19), Joe stated that the singer was just a kid and deserved to be cut some slack.

While one might think about forgiving the Go Crazy hitmaker in the said case, Big Joe fails to address the many instances and allegations that have been brought against him since then. Most recently, Brown was linked to Diddy, the disgraced rapper who is battling the federal charges of s*x trafficking, forced pr*stitution, and racketeering.

Among the celebrities alleged to be linked to Sean “P Diddy” Combs and his freak-off parties, Chris Brown’s name has come up more than a few times. While he has been keeping quiet about Diddy’s arrest, his career and life might be on the same track as the music mogul, given the recently released ID documentary, Chris Brown: A History of Violence.

Brown, throughout his career, has faced several problematic charges and allegations, but they have had little effect on his two-decade-long career. But this time, things might actually turn out to be different seeing how it is going for Diddy. In the above-mentioned documentary, Jane Doe, a professional dancer alleged that she was r*ped by the singer in a yacht owned by Diddy (via The Guardian).

While she had filed a lawsuit back in 2022 (via Rolling Stone), the documentary is the first time she (as well as others) has come forward to reveal Chris Brown’s alleged crimes over the years. Although Brown has consistently denied such charges, given the ongoing investigations into the life of Diddy, there is a possibility that the No Guidance hitmaker, along with more than a handful of celebrities, would be roped in.
