A woman has revealed why she’s changed over to Mounjaro from Ozempic as part of her weight loss journey.

People have been open about their weight-loss journeys in recent times, sharing reasons for their use of certain medications as GLP-1 drugs continue their rise in popularity.

Celebrities originally started the trend, with the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and James Corden among others opening up publicly about their experiences.

But while companies behind the medication have time and time again advised that the products were primarily made for diabetes patients, many have continued to use them for weight loss purposes.

But the bottom line is that people have had different experiences using Mounjaro (with active ingredient tirzepatide) and Ozempic (with active ingredient semaglutide), two of the most popular brand names, with only the former green-lit for weight management by the NHS.

FlyForAGinger is a YouTuber known for her content on fashion, lifestyle, and her health journey – which includes her experience with GLP-1 drugs.

Real name Victoria, she opened up on how she didn’t have ‘any side effects’ while being on different types of the medication, while also admitting that she took Wellbutrin, an antidepressant.

She spoke more on the fact that they were ‘agonists’ to suppress her appetite, pointing out: “There is some part of that where since it alters your satiety, it makes it so you’re not as hungry, there’s also some folks who kind of deal with somewhat of a depression.”

Victoria said that she knows that some lose interest in things, though she pointed out: “People have been able to quit like some substances that they’ve abused,” but added that she didn’t feel much while on the ‘highest dose’ of Ozempic.

“I really don’t feel like I had any side effects,” she said of Ozempic, going on: “And when that really just didn’t do what my doctor wanted it to do well enough, we switched on over to Mounjaro.

“I think whatever the equivalent was, I’ve gone up one step and now there’s only one more step for me to go.”

The content creator said that she didn’t experience a ‘super strong appetite suppressant’ on Ozempic at all, pointing out that she felt ‘a little bit more’ on Mounjaro, though Victoria said it ‘wasn’t really noticeable’.

Novo Nordisk said in a statement to LADbible: “Different treatment approaches will work differently for different people. Novo Nordisk recommends patients take these medications for their approved indications and under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

“Treatment decisions should be made together with a healthcare provider who can evaluate the appropriateness of using a GLP-1 based on assessment of a patient’s individual medical profile.”
