Crystal and her husband, Alton, were exhausted after a long visit with family and eager to settle into their flight home. But peace vanished the moment Crystal noticed the woman behind them resting her bare feet on Alton’s seat — and kicking it repeatedly. Despite multiple polite requests, the woman laughed it off, rolled her eyes, and kept right on disrupting their flight. Even a flight attendant’s warning didn’t stop her. That’s when Crystal knew patience wouldn’t work — but a little creativity might.
As drink service began, Crystal crafted a plan. First, she “accidentally” spilled half her water bottle onto the woman’s bag below the seat. Still no reaction. Then she quietly borrowed Alton’s gin and tonic and tipped it onto the woman’s feet. The shriek was instant. When confronted, Crystal played innocent — “Turbulence, right?” — leaving the rude passenger stunned and silent.
Suddenly, the attitude vanished. The woman kept her feet down, offered loud apologies any time she bumped the seat, and whispered complaints to her friend instead of causing trouble.
