A new set of images from Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous private island has sparked renewed scrutiny, with former FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffer suggesting that masks found on the walls of Epstein’s residence could have played a role in criminal activity.
The photos, released as part of the latest batch of Congressional documents, show what appear to be masks or busts hanging around a private dentist’s chair on Little Saint James, Epstein’s island in the US Virgin Islands.
Former FBI Agent Weighs In on Disturbing Images
Coffindaffer, who served as Supervisory Senior Resident Agent for the FBI in the Virgin Islands from 2011 to 2012, told the Daily Mail that while the masks could be purely decorative, they are “very interesting” from an investigative perspective.
“It is not unusual for those involved in sex crimes, particularly crimes involving minors, to wear masks,” Coffindaffer said. She clarified that there is no direct evidence the masks were used in crimes, but emphasized that investigators would examine them for any signs of use, such as hair or other forensic traces.
The Private Dentist’s Room
Among the most striking images is a private dentist’s chair in a room decorated with 11 male faces on the walls. While Coffindaffer noted that wealthy individuals sometimes install such chairs for convenience, she said the combination of masks and the room’s layout would pique any investigator’s interest.

“Was that room used for anything? Was it a trophy room of those involved in crimes on the island? They don’t ‘seem’ innocent,” Coffindaffer explained.
Cryptic Chalkboard Messages Highlight Epstein’s Mindset
Another image shows a chalkboard inside Epstein’s home covered in scrawled words such as “power” and “deception,” with some phrases, including what appeared to be “dark brain,” redacted. Four chairs arranged in a circle add to the eerie setting.
Coffindaffer described such writings as critical evidence for investigators: “The words themselves are gibberish, and they show the rambling thoughts of a man writing down the things that are important to him… they give you a glimpse into the mind of Epstein at the time.”

She added that, if she were on-site, she would send the writings to the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit to build a psychological profile based solely on the chalkboard content.
Coffindaffer noted that Epstein’s private island offered significant challenges to law enforcement due to surveillance, restricted access, and the property’s layout.
The images released Wednesday show additional rooms, including a non-operational steam room filled with towels, linens, and hygiene products, further illustrating the scope of the property.

Congressional Push to Release Full Epstein Files
The latest release, shared by Congressional Democrats, included just 14 images and videos. Members of the House Oversight Committee are advocating for the release of all remaining documents, some of which could implicate high-profile individuals, including President Donald Trump.
Among the newly disclosed materials is an April 2011 email from Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell mentioning Trump’s visits to Epstein’s home alongside a redacted reference to a victim. Democrats continue to press for transparency regarding Epstein’s connections and potential co-conspirators.
Since Epstein’s death in 2019, questions surrounding the full extent of his criminal activities remain. Ghislaine Maxwell is currently the only person serving a sentence connected to Epstein’s crimes, and the ongoing release of files is expected to shed light on the complex network he maintained and the potential roles of other individuals involved.
