Florida Nurse Loses License After Shocking Allegations Involving Stepson
A Florida nurse has had her medical license suspended following disturbing allegations of sexual abuse involving her teenage stepson. State officials confirmed that Alexis Von Yates, 34, of Ocala, is accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with the 15-year-old during a family visit in July 2024.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the case came to light after an anonymous tip on July 30 claimed the boy’s father walked in and witnessed part of the encounter. Von Yates was later arrested on November 6 and charged with sexual battery against a minor by a person in familial custody. She posted a $10,000 bond and was released the next day.
The Florida Department of Health issued an Emergency Suspension Order on April 25, halting her nursing license, which she had held since 2016. Officials stressed the seriousness of the allegations, stating:
“Nurses are entrusted with vulnerable patients, and they must demonstrate sound judgment and moral character.”
Court documents describe explicit behavior and inappropriate comments allegedly made by Von Yates prior to the incident. She has pleaded not guilty, and the case remains pending with no trial date set.
