Maria Bartiromo took on the role of caregiver for her mother.
Maria Bartiromo revealed in public in 2022 that she had moved her 90-year-old mother from an assisted living facility to her own house.
She stated the move was spurred by severe pharmaceutical side effects and excruciating memory loss.
Bartiromo clarified that she wanted to personally supervise her mother’s care in order to manage her prescriptions, enhance her quality of life, and restore her dignity.
The Reason She Changed
The care in the nursing facility no longer felt appropriate, according to her. Her mother appeared to be highly medicated and growing more aloof.
Maria remembered her mother’s previous wish, which was to live with family instead of in a facility when the time came.
Bartiromo concluded that she could no longer disregard her pledge at that point.

The Transition: From Caregiver to Anchor
Maria initially tried providing full-time care. She continued to anchor her television shows while assisting with everyday duties, dressing, and bathing.
She soon came to the conclusion that she couldn’t handle things by herself. As a result, she employed home health aides on a part-time basis.
She changed her job schedule as well. She was able to manage her profession and caregiving responsibilities thanks to her employer’s approval of a hybrid schedule that included some work from home.
A Personal Journey Rather Than a Guilt Trip
Bartiromo presented the action as an act of love and duty rather than as a kind of punishment. She told the outlet, “I care about her and I know who she is and what she is.”
She has urged people in like circumstances to remain vigilant, to keep a close eye on care facilities, and to demand high-quality care when needed.
However, she acknowledges that providing care is challenging. It calls for resources, assistance, and frequently outside assistance.
