In my opinion, one of the greatest advantages of adulthood is the freedom to do as you please, whenever you choose.
This freedom extends to how you dress, style your hair, and ultimately how you choose to present yourself to others.
It’s a privilege that we all enjoy; something we all appreciate. However, not many of us express our creativity to the extent that Amber Luke does, a young woman in her twenties from Australia who aims to cover her entire body in tattoos.
According to reports, Amber’s journey with ink started at the age of 16, and her passion for body art has become a significant part of her identity.
Over the years, Amber has reportedly spent a staggering $120,000 to transform herself into what she calls the “Dragon Girl.”
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. In fact, a few years ago, when she tattooed her eyeballs, it nearly ended in catastrophe.
“Sadly, my artist went too deep into my eyeball. I was blind for three weeks. That was quite harsh,” she shared.
Although Amber once resembled the typical blonde girl-next-door, her extensive body modifications have made her nearly unrecognizable today.
In addition to tattooing her eyeballs (and nearly every visible inch of her skin), she also opted for a procedure to create a forked tongue.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the Brisbane resident has invested $120,000 in body modifications, which includes $50,000 on approximately 600 tattoos and $70,000 on various surgical procedures.
Amber’s unique look might be surprising to some, but she firmly believes that her transformation has significantly helped her escape a life filled with depression and the risk of suicide.
The ‘Dragon Girl’ shared: “I was in such a deep state of depression, feeling suicidal and like a living corpse. I felt completely numb. I despised myself most of the time – that self-hatred was profound. It haunted me. Now, I’ve completely changed into someone I take pride in. I’m a strong woman who knows precisely what she wants and who she is.”
A few years back, Amber shared a series of photos that showcased her appearance before she started altering her body… and the difference is truly remarkable.
Amber mentioned that she faced criticism after getting her first tattoo, yet that hasn’t deterred her from pursuing her goal of expressing herself through body art. It may not appeal to everyone, but as long as she feels happy and confident in her own skin, that’s what truly counts!
