Vets reveal very last thing all pets do before being put down and it’s heartbreaking

This broke my heart in more ways than one. And just a heads up — it might shatter yours too.

That being said, this is a crucial read and I truly hope we can work together to raise awareness about this issue, so please ensure you share it with everyone you know who has a pet — as well as the general public, perhaps on Facebook for instance.

Our pets mean the world to us. We are there to shower them with love, care, and an abundance of cuddles and treats.

However, it seems there is one significant moment when we are simply not there for them.

When it’s time for them to say goodbye.

It all began when pet owner and frequent veterinary visitor Jessi Dietrich inquired about the most challenging aspect of her cat’s vet’s job.

“I asked my vet what the toughest part of his job was, and he mentioned that when he has to euthanize an animal, 90 percent of the owners prefer not to be present during the injection,” she tweeted, adding: “As a result, the animal’s final moments are often spent searching for their owners, and honestly, that shattered me.”

The vet’s answer broke Jessi’s heart, prompting her to share this with everyone she knew in hopes of inspiring change.

Following the viral success of Jessi’s post, numerous other veterinarians stepped up to share their own, heart-wrenching experiences.

The Facebook post below, shared by a staff member at Hillcrest Veterinary Hospital, quickly started to circulate widely.

This is a straightforward piece of information that I believe we could all gain from. If everyone spreads the word, I am confident that fewer pets will sadly pass away alone, yearning for their cherished owner and best friend.

If you ever question the depth of your pet’s love for you, take a moment to watch the bonus video below. It could really shift your perspective.

Kindly pass along this crucial information — you never know who might be in the dark. I’m confident that if more individuals understood how heartbreaking and difficult this time can be for our furry friends, they would opt to stay strong and be with them during their final, cherished moments on earth before they head to animal heaven.
