Lainey Wilson & Leanne Morgan Deliver Hilarious Twinning Moment at the 59th CMA Awards
Country music’s biggest night is underway, and the stars are shining brighter than ever. As Lainey Wilson takes on hosting duties for the 59th Annual CMA Awards, she brought along a little extra comedic firepower — her close friend and beloved comedian Leanne Morgan.
The two blondes took the stage in matching white cowboy hats, Western-style embellished jackets, and bell-bottom pants, instantly becoming one of the night’s most charming and hilarious pairs. Their twinning moment wasn’t just stylish — it came with a comedy set that had the entire Bridgestone Arena roaring.
Leanne started by charming the audience with the kind of honest, self-deprecating humor fans adore her for. “I grew up right down the road in Adams, Tennessee,” she said proudly. “I felt in my heart that one day I’d be up here. I just didn’t think it would be post-menopause. When I was your age, I was not hosting the CMA Awards. I had three babies under the age of five and I was not wearing little bell bottom britches.”
The crowd erupted as she continued, “Now that my career is finally where it is, I want to look cute too. You should’ve seen me in the 80s. Sometimes I think it’s a blessing that this all didn’t happen to me when I was younger and thinner. I think I would’ve used it for evil. I have no regrets though — except I think I should’ve done more lunges and squats leading up to this.”

Turning to Lainey, she delivered one of the funniest lines of the night: “I want you to promise me that you will let your little light shine as long as you can. Because one day, you’ll have plantar fasciitis and night sweats. Speaking of sweat, these pants are so tight, the back of my knees are wet. I don’t know how y’all do all this. I think I’m going to have to have someone cut me out of these.”
Lainey, laughing, replied, “I’m sure they’ve got a pair of scissors back there. I’ll let wardrobe know.”
But Leanne wasn’t done. “Well that precious little girl’s already been through enough getting these on me,” she joked. “I was thinking maybe Riley Green could help.”
The camera cut to Riley in the audience, who looked adorably caught off guard. He glanced down, removed his hat, checked his pockets as if searching for scissors, and flashed a megawatt smile that sent the crowd into another round of cheers.

It’s already been a huge night for Riley. He scored three major wins — Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year — all for his hit duet with Ella Langley, “You Look Like You Love Me.” Later in the show, he returned to the stage to deliver a sultry performance of “Worst Way,” further cementing his status as one of the evening’s standout stars.
