The other day, TikTok user Canepa attended the wedding of two of her friends, Bella and Aldi, on a farm in the countryside of Argentina. It was a lovely ceremony, with many friends and family members there to witness the couple’s nuptials.
But then a guest arrived whom no one invited — an abandoned dog, emerging from the surrounding woods all alone.
“He was a puppy covered in mange, looking for a safe place,” Canepa wrote. “And destiny brought him to the right spot.”
Turns out, the couple getting married that day were veterinarians, as were many of the guests in attendance. And they all welcomed the poor dog with open arms:
“The veterinarian guests who saw him acted immediately,” Canepa told The Dodo. “The next time I saw the dog, he was being cuddled by everyone at the reception.”
As the wedding afterparty continued, the dog stayed close by — enjoying the warmth of friendship from the animal-loving attendees, a feeling, perhaps, he’d never felt before. And now it’s a feeling he’ll never be without.
When the evening drew to a close, the pup was brought home by one the guests:
He’s currently being treated by his veterinarian foster mom, with the goal of one day finding him a forever home to call his own.
“She’s making sure he’s in optimal condition first,” Canepa said.
And he’s well on his way there:
The dog has since been named Beldi, an homage to Bella and Aldi, the newlyweds whose wedding he’d crashed.
In a way, that was his big day, too — the first step to a much longer journey of love.
