In China, where millions of dogs are slaughtered each year, one man has become a beacon of compassion. After his cherished dog vanished, Chinese millionaire Wang Yan was devastated.
Searching everywhere for his pet, he stumbled upon the grim reality of dog slaughterhouses—and what he saw changed his life forever.
Shaken by the horrors, Yan made a bold decision: he purchased a slaughterhouse for $400,000 and transformed it into a shelter for rescued dogs. “I don’t accept money,” he said. “All I ask is for kind people to donate supplies to help.”
Yan’s devotion has led him to rescue and care for over 2,000 stray dogs. Though the cost has been great—draining nearly all of his personal wealth—he remains unwavering.
At his shelter, dogs not only find safety but also receive proper food, medical care, and, when possible, loving adoptive homes.
