It’s hard for many dog lovers to comprehend why someone would intentionally harm an innocent animal. Sometimes, cruelty is senseless and leaves us baffled. This was certainly true for Spencer, a Doberman who endured a lot of mistreatment during his first year of life.
Spencer was found on a South Carolina freeway after being hit by a car. The poor pup was desperately searching for food, settling for roadkill to survive.
Concerned citizens brought him to Paws & Claws, an animal rescue center in Columbia, South Carolina, where his injuries became apparent to the veterinary team.

The vets noticed Spencer’s badly cropped ears, suggesting a crude home job, and X-rays showed a collection of sharp bird bones in his stomach, threatening to cause severe internal injuries. He also bore cuts on his head and legs in need of stitches, and worst of all, he had a fractured back likely resulting from the car accident.

It’s heartwarming to know Spencer now has a loving family, complete with new canine siblings. His adoptive parents keep fans updated via his Facebook page, where you can follow Spencer’s journey in his happy new life.
