Many stray puppies unfortunately still roam the streets without a cozy home to shelter them from daily dangers. One of these dangers is getting hit by vehicles.
With cars speeding down roads, it can be impossible for drivers to stop in time when a small animal suddenly appears in their path.
This scenario played out recently on a viaduct, where a puppy appeared to be a victim until a fortunate discovery showed he was still alive and could be saved.
In India, an animal rescue organization, dedicated to saving vulnerable animals, became the center of this heartwarming tale. A man bravely stepped into the busy highway to help a puppy that seemed lifeless on the road. Initially intending to remove what he thought was a lifeless body, he was astonished to find the puppy alive.
They named the puppy “Miracle” because of the incredible event. Miracle was lying unconscious amidst passing traffic, with drivers unknowingly steering around or over him.
The rescuers described their initial intention in a video, explaining, “We decided to take his body off the busy road to at least lay it aside or give him a proper funeral,” emphasizing the need to treat even a presumed dead animal with respect.
The pivotal moment came when the man left his motorcycle at the side of the road, crossed the lanes, and approached Miracle, realizing the puppy was still breathing. He stopped traffic, gently picked up the small animal, placed him on the motorcycle with a companion, and they hurried to the nearest veterinary clinic.
“We rushed him to the clinic where the vet, after a thorough examination, began his treatment,” they shared. They also expressed gratitude to Dr. Parag Pandya, the veterinarian who played a crucial role in saving Miracle’s life.
Soon after, Miracle was seen fully recovered, happily wagging his tail and showering his rescuers with affection. One of the rescuers explained, “He suffered severe head trauma, which needed time, careful treatment, love, and lots of care to heal.”
Choosing to adopt Miracle, the saviors ensured he would never return to street life. They reflected, “It’s as if God granted him a second chance, as it truly was a miracle he survived being run over by cars.”
In their account, the rescuers urged others to drive cautiously and remain mindful of animals crossing streets. They highlighted the importance of checking on these animals, as they might just need a second chance at life, just like Miracle.
