A beloved terrier named Flossie endured an unexpected adventure when she fell into a rabbit hole, prompting a dramatic rescue that lasted over two days.
The incident unfolded near Flossie’s home in Devon, England, leaving her owners and the community on edge.

Flossie vanished on April 25, sparking an exhaustive search. A TikTok clip shared by Flossie’s owner, Poppy Vernon, captures the tense rescue mission.
It shows the frantic effort to locate Flossie, with individuals digging and calling out to her amid a network of rabbit holes on the property.
Despite the use of underground cameras and tracking dogs, she eluded detection for hours.

In a remarkable turn of events, a neighbor heard a faint bark coming from behind a bush after nearly five hours.
This pivotal clue led the search dogs back to Flossie, who was finally discovered. The video reveals Tom Leary, a man in a green shirt, carefully reaching into the hole to free Flossie.
His determined actions eventually unearthed the little terrier, exposing her head just before she was liberated from her subterranean trap.

Though Flossie emerged a bit thinner from her four-day ordeal, she was otherwise in good health. Her rescue video has struck a chord online, amassing over 3.6 million views.
“We’re just thrilled to have her back with us and able to shower her with affection,” Vernon expressed to the BBC.
In another TikTok update, Vernon speculated on how Flossie ended up in such a predicament. She suspects that Flossie accidentally fell into a rabbit hole, then dug around, blocking her own escape.

“She essentially buried herself alive,” Vernon explained, adding that it was nothing short of “amazing” to have found her.
Moving forward, Vernon plans to keep a closer watch over Flossie’s outdoor adventures.
