In many places, stray animals often suffer from injuries and illnesses due to life on the streets. While there are people who wish to help them, they sometimes lack the resources to provide full aid.
This was the case for Scooter, a young puppy found in Kolkata, India.
She had sustained serious injuries, and an attempt had been made to assist her, but the treatment was left unfinished.
When discovered, she was in a dire condition with her hind legs immobilized, which prevented her from walking.
One of her wounds had become infected and was infested with maggots. Those who found her suspected that she had been attacked by another dog.
Scooter was gently taken to a local animal hospital, where staff treated her for two broken hind legs and her infected wounds. Her journey to recovery was extensive and challenging.

<p>After receiving months of care, Scooter was finally healthy enough to find a new home.</p>
<p>As reported by Paw My Gosh, Alexandra Gade looked after her during the recovery and later arranged for her relocation to Virginia.</p>
