Inspiring tales of resilience often warm the heart, and the story of Hope—a small dog from Gurgaon, India—is no exception.
Hope’s journey began under dire circumstances when she was found as a newborn puppy, injured with her internal organs exposed.

Discovered by Deepika Srivastavva, Hope was in severe distress, crying out in pain. At only 20 days old, it is believed that she was separated from her mother and left in an area inhabited by other street dogs.
These dogs, following their territorial instincts, attacked her and left her for dead. Fortunately, she was rescued and rushed to a hospital where surgeons successfully retracted her protruding stomach.

Now, Hope is a joyful 4-to-5-month-old puppy, a vibrant testament to her name, which embodies her spirit and potential. Her survival is nothing short of a miracle, given the ordeal she endured.
Though the organization Stray Dog was not initially involved in her rescue, they stepped in when no one in India was willing to adopt her.

Returning her to the streets was not an option due to her lack of survival skills. As a result, Stray Dog is committed to supporting Hope until she finds a permanent home, hopefully outside of India, where she can thrive.
“She appears to be in robust health now, but her spay surgery has been postponed to allow her more time to recover from her previous trauma,” said one of her caregivers.

Hope’s foster family praises her intelligence and affectionate nature, noting that she is already trained to walk on a leash and comfortable in a crate.
By sharing Hope’s remarkable story, we aim to raise awareness and support for other dogs in need, offering them a second chance at life, just as Hope received.
