Pittie Devastated To Be The Only One Without A Family After Adoption Event

In mid-June, Bullet arrived at the Carson Animal Shelter in Los Angeles. His family was giving him up, and no one at the shelter knows why.

“Owners typically leave a note about why they’re surrendering their pet,” Janallyn Vega, a shelter volunteer, told The Dodo. “His owners left it blank, so we’re not sure why they no longer wanted him.”

As the staff and volunteers got to know Bullet, they were even more perplexed — because he truly was the perfect dog.

“Bullet is literally a tiny baby in a dog’s body,” Vega said. “He’s so affectionate and sweet, it’s hard not to fall in love with him.”

Wanting to find Bullet a family as soon as possible, the shelter staff took him to one of their adoption events, and from the second the event started, Bullet was loving it.

“He was a hit at our adoption event,” Vega said. “Bullet is so people friendly and kid friendly, so many families stopped to say hi to him, and he was loving the attention he wouldn’t typically get at the shelter. One family was really close to taking him but had a change of heart at the last second.”

At the end of the event, every single dog had been adopted — except for Bullet. His new shelter friends were heartbroken for him. It truly didn’t make any sense.

“I can’t tell you why he wasn’t chosen at the adoption event … He’s a dream dog,” Vega said. “Maybe those just weren’t his people.”

As Bullet was loaded up to head back to the shelter, he looked so sad and defeated — and Vega knew she had to do something.

“I posted a video of him the day of the adoption once we were packing up and leaving,” Vega said. “I had to help him find his people. His video went viral within an hour.”

The entire internet fell hard for Bullet. Their hearts were breaking for him, too, and the message began to spread far and wide: Bullet needed a forever home — and within two days, he found one.

Now, Bullet is safe and sound with his new family. His new name is Stitch, and he has a rescue pittie sister named Lilo. He’s loving his new life more than he ever thought possible, and he’ll never have to feel unwanted ever again.
