When a dog is abandoned by its family, it can be heartbreaking. Often, families may not want to take on the responsibility of caring for a sick or elderly dog, unaware of the emotional and physical impact on the animal.
This was the case for Ray, an 8-year-old Labrador Retriever, found wandering alone on the streets of Torrance, California. His appearance was alarming; he had crusty eyes, appeared emaciated, and had patches of missing fur due to starvation.

Fortunately, Ray was taken in by the staff at the Carson Shelter in California. Thanks to the dedication of the shelter volunteers, his health started to show signs of improvement.
Despite this, Ray remained downcast, as there was limited interest in adopting older dogs like him.
In a positive turn of events, Ray has found a new home through adoption. Despite his ordeal, Ray’s affectionate nature towards people has not changed. He continues to greet everyone with love.
