On a sunlit spring morning, in the winding streets of Tehran, a tiny, trembling pup named Pani lay abandoned and broken. With a shattered spine rendering her back legs useless, she clung to life on the dusty sidewalks of Iran’s capital. Despite her paralysis, something profound lingered in her spirit: a yearning to live, to move, to feel loved. This unspoken plea guided her through darkness—toward a life she never imagined possible.
From Tehran’s Streets to New York’s Shores

For more than a month, an injured Pani endured the harsh reality of street life in Iran. Local rescuers discovered her and rushed her into care. Over the next year, she received shelter and veterinary attention in Iran before fate intervened: an animal sanctuary arranged for her relocation to the United States. Around age one, Pani arrived in New York City and was taken into foster care by Tedi—her soon-to-be adopted mama.
Relearning Love, Trust, and Life
Although she underwent rehabilitation, her back injury created a permanent paralysis leaving her both mentally and physically scarred. She was also wary of people, however in Tedi’s patient love began to restore her fragile faith.
Life in New York’s apartments and parks introduced Pani to a symphony of new sights, sounds, and smells. Each day, Tedi walked her through the city’s rhythms, gently encouraging her to explore boundaries. Although Pani remained wheelchair-bound, something wondrous emerged: during quiet moments, she would reflexively paddle with her hind legs—“walking” in her sleep. This bittersweet glimpse of hope captured hearts online, showcasing her fortitude and the depth of her dreams. Pani’s slow progress and endearing resilience attracted a following of supporters inspired by her unwavering will.
A Move to Miami and a Love for the Ocean

Last year, Tedi and Pani left New York’s concrete for the sun-kissed shores of Miami. It was here that both discovered the ocean’s magic. As they stepped into the shallow surf, something remarkable happened: the saltwater buoyed Pani’s legs, giving her a fleeting, joyous sense of walking again
In those gentle waves, she paddled freely—no wheelchair required. Each dawn and dusk, waves lapped her paws as she swam and walked with a wonder she hadn’t felt since before her injury.
A Life Reborn Amid Waves and Warmth
For Pani, the ocean became a place of rebirth. With each swim, her confidence blossomed. Her back legs, previously dormant, began to flex, to stretch, to remember. The ethereal combination of love and nature’s embrace forged new strength within her. Tedi’s Instagram reels, capturing Pani’s first paddles in calm turquoise waters, have moved countless viewers to tears of hope and joy.
A Beacon of Hope and Unconditional Love

Today, Pani’s journey is a living testament to resilience, compassion, and the transformative power of care. From Tehran’s forgotten alleys to the vibrant oceanfronts of Miami, she has learned to walk, swim, trust, and most importantly, to believe in tomorrow. Her story reminds us that even in the face of profound adversity, love—tender, timeless, unwavering—can help us rise again. Through her gentle paddles and soft paws upon the sand, Pani invites us to believe that miracles do happen, and that every wounded soul can learn to dance in the light once more.
Pani’s life changed completely the day she found Tedi. Today Tedi is a foster and animal volunteer for various animal shelters in Miami namely the Miami-Dade Animal Services in Doral Florida where she staunchly advocates dog adoption.
