When Hope For Paws receives a call about a dog in need, the team goes to great lengths to provide assistance. This commitment was evident in their efforts to save a dog named Dennis.
Dennis had been left to fend for himself on a bridge, and his health had deteriorated significantly.

While skateboarding, a young man named Gabriel Sepulveda noticed Dennis and was reminded of a previous rescue video by Hope For Paws, prompting him to alert the organization.
According to Eldad Hagar from Hope For Paws, “It took Lisa Chiarelli and me two hours to reach the site, and the situation was heartbreaking. Dennis was unable to move and infested with ticks.”
The team quickly transported Dennis to an animal hospital where they began treating him. To address his severe anemia, blood was urgently needed.

Lola, Lisa’s dog, was brought to the hospital to donate blood for Dennis. The team worked tirelessly, hoping their efforts would make a difference.
For five days, specialists including neurologists, cardiologists, and internal medicine experts examined Dennis. Despite their best efforts, as Eldad noted, “all of this was insufficient.”
Dennis’s condition was dire, and unfortunately, his body began to shut down, leading to his passing shortly thereafter.

This tragic incident underscores the reality that not all rescue missions end in success. Dennis had been neglected for far too long without anyone to speak up for him.

Eldad emphasizes the importance of vigilance and action, urging people to “say something… do something” if they witness an animal in distress.

By spreading this message, we can encourage others to intervene in cases of neglect or abuse before it’s too late.
