More than a month after chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell was found dead in her Brooklyn home, officials have confirmed her cause of death. On July 24, 2025, the New York City Medical Examiner ruled it a suicide caused by acute intoxication from amphetamine, alcohol, and antihistamines.
Burrell was discovered unresponsive in the shower by her husband, Stuart Claxton, hours after she was last seen alive. Despite immediate 911 efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Over 100 tablets were found nearby.
