Sadly, it is confirmed… The end of a legend. Goodbye, Jim Carrey Check the comments

Jim Carrey, born in 1962 in Newmarket, Ontario, rose from a working-class upbringing to stand-up stardom, then Hollywood fame. His elastic face, full-body slapstick, mimicry, and improv made him a breakout on In Living Color and in films like Ace VenturaThe Mask, and Liar Liar, with acclaimed dramatic turns in The Truman Show and beyond.

Beyond box office success, Carrey’s been vocal about mental health and has supported various causes, later branching into writing and painting. He’s talked openly about anxiety and depression and has preferred a quieter life focused on art and reflection.

In recent years he starred in Sonic the Hedgehog, but in 2022 said he was taking a serious break from acting, leaning into painting and “the simpler things.” He’s framed this shift as choosing sufficiency over constant hustle.

That vibe carried into real life: in 2023 he listed his longtime Brentwood estate (owned since the ’90s), a light-filled home with a theater, tennis court, and gardens. After three decades calling it a “source of wonder and inspiration,” he said it was time to let someone else enjoy it.
