Keanu Reeves Reveals Shocking Knee Injury During Filming of Good Fortune
Keanu Reeves recently shared details about a surprising injury he suffered while filming the upcoming comedy Good Fortune. Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Reeves revealed the injury didn’t come from a stunt but from a simple trip over a raised carpet after shooting a cold plunge scene with co-stars Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen.
Describing the moment, Reeves said his kneecap fractured and “cracked like a potato chip,” resulting in a shattered patella—the bone crucial to knee function.
Fans noticed Reeves on set earlier this year using crutches and an ice pack, but he has fully recovered and resumed filming. He’s working alongside Aziz Ansari, Sandra Oh, and Keke Palmer.
Reeves lightened the mood by joking, “Comedy is hard, man,” showing his humor despite the setback.
Good Fortune, directed by Ansari, centers on an angel (Reeves) helping a gig worker (Ansari) find happiness beyond money. The film also stars Seth Rogen and Sandra Oh and hits theaters October 17, 2025.
