A 40-year-old man from Kenya has stepped forward, saying he is the Tesla founder’s firstborn son and claiming he was born long before Musk’s other 14 children came along.
The man, who goes by the name Nyakundi Kibiru, alleges he is the result of a brief romance between his mother and a “20-year-old Musk,” insisting this fling led to his birth.
Kibiru, who refers to himself as a “mental health activist,” has publicly demanded a DNA test to confirm his claims, as reported by the Daily Star.
When he posted a photo of himself online, some social media users said they didn’t need any test at all — many claimed the resemblance between the alleged father and son was almost uncanny.
Still, plenty of people online remain doubtful about whether Kibiru’s story holds any truth, even if his looks do bear a striking resemblance to Musk.

“He really look just like him.” a second commented, while a third simply said: “Spitting image.”
Some suggested that the photo could have been created with AI tools, while others floated the theory that Kibiru might actually be Musk’s brother rather than his son.
But doing a quick bit of math and examining the claims more closely paints a different picture.
If Kibiru’s timeline is accurate, Musk would have been only 14 years old and still in high school at the time of his supposed son’s birth.
Adding to the doubts, keen-eyed online users spotted several strange details in Kibiru’s photo that made them question its authenticity.
Despite the strong resemblance to Musk, many believe the image was digitally altered using AI technology.

“And the chances he would pose like this – with the exact same beard, in front of the most generic corporate blurred background like a model?”
Another added: “AI. As much as I would love to believe it.”
While all this back-and-forth over Kibiru’s supposed connection to Musk was playing out, another twist came when Musk’s Grok chatbot was briefly suspended from X — the very platform it operates on — which only fueled more speculation.
Whatever the case, it seems safe to say that Musk’s official child count hasn’t actually gone up… at least not yet.
