Kenny Chesney capped off his I Go Back Tour with two sold-out nights at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, and then celebrated the finale in true island style — a Caribbean getaway with tourmate Kelsea Ballerini and her boyfriend, Chase Stokes.
Chesney shared snapshots from the trip on Instagram, including a photo of himself and Ballerini enjoying time on a boat.
“Tour mates turned family. Thanks to everyone that gave so much to the #IGOBACKTOUR. Kenny loves Tekelsea,” he wrote, referencing the playful nickname he’s given her after a series of tequila and ice-bath dares on tour.
He later posted another picture lounging in a hammock with a drink in hand, simply captioned: “Off tour.”
Ballerini also looked back on the journey, posting a carousel of 10 images featuring everything from stage shots to beach hangs and bar moments with Chesney.
“Spent the last few months touring with my hero turned brother @kennychesney. My heart is so full from a beautiful collection of new memories. Thank you to everyone who made it so dang special 🤍,” she wrote.
Just before the vacation, Chesney surprised Ballerini with a sentimental gift to honor their nightly performance of “Half Of My Hometown.” The song holds personal meaning for both, since they grew up in rival Tennessee high schools. For the Orange Beach finale, he brought out their old school jerseys, joking, “Hard to believe mine still fits, but it did. So, for one night, the Gibbs Eagles and Central Bobcats represented for a whole lot of people.”
Throughout the trek, the two also teamed up on fan-favorite duets including “Wild Child” and “You And Tequila,” making each stop feel like a hometown show.
The I Go Back Tour launched in Charlottesville, Virginia, and brought Chesney back to arenas he hadn’t visited in years, with stops in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, South Dakota, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, and more.
“What a way to start my summer,” Chesney reflected after the finale. “Some really great memories were made.”
While the tour has wrapped, Chesney isn’t slowing down completely — he’s slated for festival appearances at Gulf Coast Jam and Carolina Country Music Fest later this year.
