Radio Contest Between Father And Daughter Sparks Public Outrage Over Inappropriate Challenge

An Australian father-daughter duo were willing to do anything to win cash… including full-on making out with one another on a Live radio show.

In 2020, KIIS 106.5 hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson launched a game called Boyfriend or Daddy.

The controversial game involved a female special guest being invited into the studio with a male counterpart.

The concept of the game was simple — the well-known radio hosts had to figure out whether the two guests were a father and daughter duo or a couple in a relationship.

If the hosts made the wrong call, the participants would receive a generous cash reward of AU$1000 (About US$661).

In one particular episode, a 26-year-old woman named Stacey joined the studio alongside 49-year-old Nick, setting the stage for what would become one of the show’s most talked-about moments.

The pair claimed to be lovers and kissed each other on the lips on the way into the interview and were soon subjected to a round of questioning, as per the Standard.

“I have a thing for older guys,” Stacey explained as she took her seat. “My dad told me to go find a nice Greek boy, ’cause I’m a little bit Greek, so I did.”

“They weren’t too impressed at the beginning, but he’s come around. They seem to go fishing and stuff together now.”

Eager to uncover the truth, Jackie O Henderson began asking a string of probing and awkward questions to test whether Stacey and Nick’s story would hold up under pressure.

One of her more personal questions was aimed at catching them off guard, though it made the atmosphere in the studio tense.

“With your boyfriend, what is your favourite sexual position in the bedroom?” she said.

If Henderson had hoped that the uncomfortable line of questioning would make the pair falter or reveal their real relationship, she was soon proven wrong.

The pair had the radio broadcasters bamboozledInstagram/KIIS1065

Stacey ploughed ahead and told listeners that she liked to ‘go on top’, explaining: “I’m a little bit smaller than him so I kind of don’t like to be smothered, so being on top is definitely the way to go with us.”

Nick was then asked if his so-called girlfriend enjoyed oral sex, to which he replied: “It took a while to get me to come around that way, both giving and receiving.”

Still uncertain about whether Stacey and Nick were being honest, Henderson chose to raise the stakes and use what she considered her final strategy to uncover the truth.

After kissing her dad, Stacey admitted he wasn’t her boyfriend after allInstagram/KIIS1065

“There’s only one way to decide this. Would you guys be willing to give each other just a little kiss on the lips? This is your boyfriend or your dad? So feel free to kiss as much as you want,” the radio star said.

Instead of exchanging an innocent kiss, the daddy-daughter duo went for a fully-blown make-out session, which left host Sandilands shocked.

“It has to be a boyfriend,” he exclaimed.

“It can’t be the father, no one kisses their father like that… unless you live in the mountains and have no neighbours.”

In the end, the hosts were stunned when Stacey revealed the truth — Nick wasn’t her boyfriend at all, but in fact her own father.

“The things we do for money – this is actually my father!” Stacey revealed.

She added: “My boyfriend’s going to be mortified”.

Social media quickly filled with comments from listeners who said the station had gone “too far” and that such stunts blurred moral boundaries for the sake of viral attention.

Listeners were allegedly ‘disgusted’ by the faux romance, with one writing: “This is so, so wrong on so many levels,” as per The Mirror.

“Nope no amount of money is worth tarnishing the pure innocent love between father and daughter in my eyes,” a second added. “This can never be undone.”

Following the broadcast, the station faced a wave of negative publicity. Many called for the network to implement stricter guidelines to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Even longtime fans of the program admitted the episode left them uncomfortable, saying the hosts should have stepped in to end the segment sooner once it became clear where it was heading.

The producers defended the show by claiming it was “unscripted and spontaneous,” but they later acknowledged the backlash and agreed the moment “pushed boundaries that shouldn’t have been crossed.”

The duo ended up taking home the AU $1,000, but at what cost?
