He used to wear suits and work quietly in an office… today he has 560 piercings.
When I learned his story, I thought it was a joke. A character created for hype? Not at all. Doesn’t exist.
He’s covered in tattoos from head to toe, has over 170 facial piercings, has split his tongue, has implants under his skin that form horns… and has even modified some very private areas.
The most incredible thing? He started this transformation only after 40 years.
His first tattoo was the starting point. Then a piercing, then another… Until his appearance became a complete expression of his personality.
Seeing his photos before the changes, it’s hard to believe his current appearance.
But what moved me deeply was not the number of changes, but their meaning. Rolf does not aim to shock.
It’s not a challenge. For him, the body is a living canvas, a deep and intimate art. He didn’t want to become someone else. He simply revealed who he really is.
And this contrast is striking.
Behind this impressive appearance lies a calm, smiling, almost shy person.
He willingly communicates with those who approach him, without aggression, with great openness.
Of course, not everyone reacts the same way. Some admiration his courage.
Others avoid him out of embarrassment. In 2014, he was even turned away from Dubai airport for “security reasons”… The authorities thought he was practicing black magic.
Today, Rolf continues to travel, meet curious people and challenge the norm.
It questions our relationship with our bodies, beauty and the freedom to be ourselves.
