Kane Brown Opens Up About His Life-Changing Health Transformation
Kane Brown has been on an impressive fitness and wellness journey, shedding 24 pounds and transforming both his body and mindset. In a candid interview with PEOPLE, the country star revealed how quitting nicotine, giving up alcohol, and committing to discipline changed his life from the inside out.
Breaking Old Habits
Brown said it all started with a New Year’s resolution to quit using ZYN nicotine pouches, a habit he’d picked up after dipping tobacco in high school. He credited his wife, Katelyn Brown, for encouraging him to make the change.
“It’s a nasty habit. My wife wanted me to quit for the longest,” he said. “She broke me out of a lot of my bad habits. I think she’s happier with how I am now.”

The singer also decided to give up alcohol, admitting that while drinking once helped him loosen up onstage, it eventually began affecting his throat and performance.
“Now, if I do drink it, it messes my throat up and I don’t like it. I don’t drink at all anymore, and I like it that way.”
A New Lifestyle on the Road
During The High Road Tour earlier this year, Brown and his bandmates took things further with a liquid fast, which quickly showed results. Motivated by the progress, Brown hired a coach to guide his workouts and nutrition.
“Once I realized how tough it was, I didn’t want to put anything bad back in my body,” he said.
He now works out two hours a day, runs regularly, and keeps his diet clean—even joking about resisting old habits:
“The other day when I was on the golf course, I ate a Snickers. I almost smacked myself.”
Brown says his body fat percentage is now in the single digits, though he’s still figuring out his ultimate goal.
“Some days I want to look like a plastic toy soldier… other times I’m like, ‘I don’t want to be too big.’ I just want to look like that mannequin you saw in science class.”
Finding Mental Clarity Through Fitness
Before his transformation, Brown admitted he struggled with dark thoughts and feelings of worthlessness.
“I wanted to be in a corner left alone,” he said. “I knew I needed something that was going to change my headspace.”
That change came through fitness.
“Getting in shape changed my mindset. I feel like I’m restarting my youth,” Brown shared. “I love everything it’s done to me, from the way I look to my mental state. I want to give everything 100% now.”
He added that even on stressful days, he can now “find good things about life and about being here.”
