Some travelers have even gone as far as selling their belongings to live on cruise ships permanently, while others book long trips because it saves them money. With so many people onboard, it is no wonder unusual little traditions and signals start to pop up.
When TikTok creator Dominique, known as @blogionistatravels, spotted pineapple decals placed upside down on a few doors, she felt curious enough to ask what they stood for. Her question ended up sparking a massive response online.
“When you’re on your first cruise and you see that everyone has these little cute pineapples on their door,” she said in her viral clip.

The explanation stunned plenty of viewers, especially those who had walked past the symbol before without realizing what they were seeing. A number of people joked that Dominique should “keep walking” if she spotted one again.

If you do, remember to be respectful. People use the symbol discreetly for a reason, and it is not an invitation to bother anyone.
