- Some of the allegations in Bower’s book include criticism of the couple’s financial situation, charity work, royal exit, and Prince Harry’s Invictus Games, as well as claims about Queen Camilla and Prince William and Kate Middleton’s views on Meghan.
Akin to many other royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been the subject of numerous books over the years, including Meghan: A Hollywood Princess by Andrew Morton, and Meghan and Harry: The Real Story by Lady Colin Campbell, as well as Finding Freedom by their friend Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.
But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now reportedly hitting back after royal biographer Tom Bower‘s latest book, Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, made fresh allegations about them, which they referred to in a statement as a “deranged conspiracy.” Keep reading for more details…
What Are Some Of The Allegations About Prince Harry And Meghan Markle In Tom Bower’s New Book?
Bower, who wrote the 2022 book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, is being slammed by the couple for some of the things he has said in his new book, which is scheduled for release on March 26th, 2026.
Some of these things include criticizing their financial situation, their charity work, their royal exit, and Prince Harry’s Invictus Games, among other things.
One of the things Bower wrote which have been cited in the Times of London and other publications over the past few days included Queen Camilla allegedly telling a friend that Meghan had “brainwashed” her husband.
Another claim suggests that Prince William and Kate Middleton “evidently saw Meghan as a threat rather than an ally” amid tensions within the royal family before Prince Harry and Meghan ultimately stepped down as senior royals and relocated to Montecito, California, where they have pursued financial independence.
Previous reports have also suggested that the Princess of Wales became wary of the Sussexes following their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the book William and Catherine: The Monarchy’s New Era: The Inside Story, author Russell Myers claimed that Kate felt the Oprah interview damaged the trust between the couples once known as the fab four.
“There was a lot of sadness there,” Myers wrote, adding that the Princess of Wales believed any future interactions with Prince Harry and Meghan should be approached “with the utmost of caution because it was obvious that they weren’t to be trusted.”
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Issue Statement Against Tom Bower’s New Book
In a statement released on Saturday, March 14th, the Sussexes said Bower has “long crossed the line from criticism into fixation.”
“This is someone who has publicly stated, ‘the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,’ language that speaks for itself,” the statement read.
