Emma Chawner, a renowned X Factor wannabe, has proudly shown off her 16-stone weight reduction 17 years after her initial audition for the reality singing competition. When Emma, now 35, first appeared on the renowned ITV talent show in 2007 at the age of 17, her family stormed the audition room to confront Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Sharon Osbourne, and Louis Walsh after her rejection.
Since then, the former TV actress has lost weight, saying that she achieved it all on her own and denying the use of a gastric band during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine in 2019. More recently, she shared some amazing ‘before’ and ‘after’ images on her Instagram account, captioning them, ‘5 years down and 16th 4 lost.’ I’m still losing weight, but it’s happening very slowly.” Fans praised her with comments like “Fantastic, you look fantastic,” and “You look very gorgeous and adorable! Keep in mind that factors such as age, gender, or weight do not determine one’s weight. Your beauty has always shown through! I’m pleased to see you.” Bless you, love!”
Emma stated to host Lorraine Kelly, who first sought to help the family lose weight, that the death of her dog and the stress of her parents’ divorce were the triggers for her weight loss. Sadly, her 73-year-old mother died in her sleep back in January. Emma told Lorraine, “No one has forced me to do anything; I’ve done everything alone. I was constantly out of breath and diabetic.
She slammed opponents who thought she had had a weight loss operation, explaining at the time how she wished to drop more weight: “I’m happy with how I am, and it’s not far to go.”
In 2019, Emma announced on ITV’s Lorraine that she had lost 13 stone since her time on the X Factor.
Despite facing brutal rejection in her initial audition, Emma returned two years later to sing alongside her sister, Samantha, who got married earlier this year, and received four rejections from the judges. Cheryl told her when she returned in 2009: “Emma, I have to say, you’re obviously more confident when you’re with your sister. Unfortunately, nothing else has improved.
Following her attempt at musical glory, Emma and her family appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s Big Fat Challenge to lose weight.
After moving away from the spotlight, she shed more weight, telling her followers, “Thank you for your support. I performed a 30-day cleanse last month and dropped 11 pounds. My trick has been to avoid eating and drink enough fluids.
Emma thought her larger size was due to heredity before receiving assistance from a weight-loss team that included nutrition and fitness experts on Lorraine’s show. She clarified, “It’s not because of what I ate.” It is due to genetics in my family. Mum is large, dad is big, and my sister is big. No one in our household is skinny.
