3 stars who want to take on different roles in the Harry Potter series
It was announced that a Harry Potter series will debut on Max in 2026. Since then, a number of updates about the same have come out. Naturally, the original actors from the Harry Potter franchise were asked about their take on the upcoming show.

Many stars were happy about the development of a Harry Potter TV show. Since the actors are a bit too old to reprise their original roles now, and three actors decided that they would be interested in portraying a different role.
According to reports by People and Deadline, stars Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) stated that they would like to portray the roles of Prof. Remus Lupin and Dobby, respectively.
‘Because you don’t have to go to makeup’ said Jason Isaacs. ‘[I] just waltz in [during] the middle of the day, have a cup of coffee, steal the whole scene.’
Mattew Lewis also stated that since he was “too old to play Neville again”, he would like to take on the role of Professor Remus Lupin.
On the other hand, Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) decided to take on a more prominent role. The actor revealed that if given the chance he would like to portray the role of Professor Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter TV show.
Well, it would be pretty fun to see these three actors return to different roles in the TV show, however, they haven’t been approached for the same. On the other hand, it doesn’t mean that everyone wants to jump on the Harry Potter train once again.
Daniel Radcliffe is not interested in the $9.5 billion franchise anymore
Well, that’s how high the collection of the Harry Potter franchise goes. According to The Numbers, the franchise is at a staggering global collection of $9.5 billion.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Daniel Radcliffe revealed that he will not be returning In any role in the Harry Potter TV show. The actor stated that he doesn’t think that they will need him physically to pass on the torch to the next generation.
My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere.
He further continued,
So I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.
Well, it would be a miracle if we were to see some of the OG cast from the movies make their way onto television screens in cameos or in different roles. What we do know for sure is that the series is going to be more detailed than the movies.
As per the latest reports, the TV show will start shooting in the summer of this year and a casting call for Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley has gone out. The show is expected to premiere in 2026 or 2027.
