It’s truly heartbreaking to see a blind dog being mistreated. They already have a hard time coping with everything that is happening to them.
It makes it so much worse when people abuse or abandon them. This poor pup went through the same thing. He was abandoned and left at a shelter in Nevada.
His hope was slipping away, and he needed a miracle in order to continue. Just when rescuers thought his chances were getting smaller, something amazing happened.
Hope For Batou
Batou’s life was not easy. Aside from being cruelly abandoned at a shelter, he was also placed on a euthanasia list because his rescuers didn’t believe there was a chance for him.
He didn’t want to walk because he would often bump into objects and hurt himself. Because he wasn’t mobile at all, he gained a lot of weight.
That, in turn, slowed him down even more. Just as things were taking a grim turn, a miracle happened for Batou.
A family decided to adopt Batou, and they gave him the chance that he always wanted. However, he still had problems that he needed to resolve.
One of them was weight. His new family took him to a gym for dogs in Nevada that specialized in helping dogs like him who needed it the most.
He could regain confidence to walk again without having to worry about bumping into objects. Another good thing is that he doesn’t have to exercise in the strong heat.
Considering it’s in Nevada, that is a pretty important factor. The people working at Run Dawg Gym encouraged Batou to make every step count.
Batou’s First Steps
They helped him make the first moves, and before you knew it, he was up on his feet and walking again. He was making small steps at first.
As time went on, he gained more confidence, and everything was changing. He was walking more, and you could just see a huge smile on his face.
The employee at the gym looked so proud of Batou for working so hard. All he needed was a little push, and it shows.
When the employees notified Batou’s family about his progress, they were also really happy to hear it. While this pup still has a long way to go, this is a major step in his journey.
Batou has likely had to endure so much in his life because of his blindness, and I’m doubtful that his previous owners tried to help him with that. He’s so lucky to have such wonderful people with him now.
His family hopes that despite his disabilities, he will be able to live a somewhat normal life, and they will work really hard to give him that chance.
