While working at an abandoned house in Detroit, an electrician spotted two frightened puppies huddled together in the backyard—one appearing to be injured. Realizing they were alone and in need of help, he contacted Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue.
Theresa Sumpter, the rescue’s founder, rushed to the scene. Though the pups were wary, she patiently coaxed them with sweet talk and treats. After about 30 minutes, both were safely secured and taken to the vet.
Named Mercy and Grace, the shy pups were initially very timid, but within two weeks, they blossomed into playful, happy dogs. Now healthy and thriving, they’re ready to find their forever homes.
Anyone interested in adopting them can reach out to Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue.
