In a heartwarming story from a northern village in Alberta, Canada, a stray puppy’s incredible survival against the odds has captured many hearts.
The young dog, now named Nutmeg, was hit by a car and left immobilized in the freezing snow for almost 12 hours, suffering from a shattered pelvis. With temperatures below freezing, her chances seemed grim.

Fortunately, a group of teenagers noticed the helpless puppy and immediately alerted the AB Task Force, an animal rescue organization. This led to a call to Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS), who stepped in to save the day.
According to AARCS, Nutmeg had been lying against the cold ground for so long that her body heat had melted the snow around her before she was found and taken to SAVEvet for emergency care.

Despite her ordeal, Nutmeg warmly greeted her rescuers, clearly relieved to be in safe hands. As she recovers from her injury, Nutmeg must remain in a crate to rest for six weeks.

During this time, she is receiving plenty of snacks, love, and gentle affection, as mentioned in a statement from AARCS.
