Yodo, a stray dog with a difficult past, almost lost hope until some compassionate individuals came into his life, offering a chance for a fresh start. Despite his challenging journey, Yodo’s story thankfully concludes on a happy note.
The Karemelo Institute, an organization committed to rescuing and rehabilitating animals for adoption, discovered Yodo in dire straits on the street.
He was so frail that even moving was an arduous task. His eye infection hindered his vision, leaving him anxious and defenseless.

Yodo’s initial condition was heart-wrenching—emaciated and covered in scabies, with eyes sealed shut due to the infection, he had all but given up on brighter days.
Yet, even then, he managed to wag his tail when rescuers arrived, demonstrating a flicker of resilience like a true fighter reluctant to surrender.
Yodo’s daily life quickly filled with necessary treatments and procedures, such as therapeutic baths, echocardiograms, ultrasounds, and pain relief medications, all of which posed significant challenges.
Despite these hurdles, Yodo remained tenacious, never succumbing to despair. What he needed most was not only medical care but also the affection of those tending to him.

After nearly three months of intense treatment and rehabilitation, Yodo left the hospital and found a forever home with Mauro and his loving family. Interestingly, the man who funded Yodo’s recovery also became his adoptive owner.
Now, Yodo resides with Mauro, his wife Ana, their nine-year-old daughter, and two other dogs. As a family seasoned in dog care, they are well-equipped to provide Yodo with the joyful life he deserves.
