A driver happened to notice Violet, a two-year-old dog, along with several other dogs, all restrained by heavy metal chains. These chains not only confined the dogs but also caused them physical harm.
Angela Stell, who runs the animal rescue organization NMDOG, suspects that Violet had been living under these harsh conditions her entire life.

The dogs, including Violet, were found on a property in New Mexico, where it is illegal to chain dogs without supervision.
To address the situation, the local county sheriff’s department was called to investigate. However, it appeared that the dogs had been left behind by their owners.

NMDOG stepped in and rescued Violet and the other dogs, setting them on a path to recovery.
“Violet was quite scared and remains a bit nervous,” Stell mentioned, indicating that the dog’s past experiences might have included mistreatment.

Thankfully, Violet is now physically healthy and making progress in healing from her emotional scars. Once she is ready, Violet will be looking for a new, loving home through adoption.
