Deaf Pit Bull Overcomes Odds: From Painful Blisters to Thriving Life with Loving Family

When a deaf Pit Bull named Stinger arrived at the shelter, his condition appeared dire.

His body was covered in dangerous blisters, and the shelter staff initially decided that euthanasia was the only option, as they weren’t equipped to handle such severe cases.

However, Carri Shipaila, who runs the LuvnPupz rescue in Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, learned about Stinger and rushed to his aid. Without delay, she drove nearly an hour to rescue him from the shelter.

Although Stinger’s original owners chose not to reclaim him, Carri was determined to give him a fighting chance.

Carri and her team immediately began treating Stinger’s extensive injuries, including his blisters, a significant skin infection, and sarcoptic mange.

Despite their best efforts, they discovered that Stinger suffers from Pemphigus, an autoimmune disorder that will affect him for life.

Due to the high cost of his ongoing medical care, Stinger won’t be put up for adoption. Instead, he has found a permanent home with a foster family and will continue to receive the treatment and therapy he needs through LuvnPupz.

Stinger’s transformation since leaving the shelter has been remarkable. His painful blisters have healed, and his once-damaged skin now boasts a stunning white coat. He’s a spirited and affectionate dog, relishing his new life in a caring home.

Help spread Stinger’s heartwarming journey by sharing his story with friends and family!
