When Charlotte Holmes visited her cardiologist in 2019, her blood pressure was dangerously high at 234/134. She was immediately hospitalized and placed on an IV to prevent a heart attack. What she didn’t expect that day was to have a near-death experience that would change her life.
During a hypertensive crisis, Charlotte’s heart stopped. Her husband Danny watched in fear as doctors rushed to revive her. For 11 minutes, Charlotte was clinically dead. But during that time, she says she saw something extraordinary—both heaven and hell.
Charlotte recalled an out-of-body experience where she saw herself lying in the hospital bed as nurses worked to save her. Then, she described entering a beautiful, peaceful place. “Everything was swaying with the music,” she said. “It’s so above what we could imagine, a million times.”
There, she reunited with her late parents and a son she lost during pregnancy. “They held up the baby and said, ‘Charlotte, it’s a boy,’” she recalled. In heaven, she learned that children continue to grow, but time doesn’t exist—it’s eternal.
However, Charlotte said God also showed her a glimpse of hell. She described it as dark, foul-smelling, and unbearable, especially after witnessing the joy of heaven. “This is where they shall reside,” she heard, before being sent back to her body.
After waking up, Charlotte felt a divine calling to share her story as a warning and message of hope. She continued doing so until her passing in November 2023 at age 72.
Her husband Danny shared a tribute online: “Her life changed in 2019 when God gave her a glimpse of heaven… Her journey has ended.”
Charlotte’s experience left a lasting impression on all who heard it—offering comfort, reflection, and a powerful message of faith.
