Cardi B Under Fire For Calling Fans ‘Fat As F*’ During Livestream

Cardi B’s latest livestream has ignited a storm of criticism, particularly within the plus-size community, after fans labeled her remarks as “unacceptable.”The livestream began innocently enough, with the rapper eating Chick-fil-A and chatting about a clothing line she was promoting to tie in with her upcoming album, Am I the Drama. However, things quickly escalated when she appeared to single out and mock her own supporters.

“What I wanted to tell y’all is that we really underestimated the box sets, so the box sets are completely sold out – especially because you fat f**ks – clearly you guys are fat as f**k, no Chick-fil-A for y’all – the 3XL sold out like in 20 minutes,” the 32-year-old said on Instagram Live.

Cardi B — whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Cephus — went on to add: “Now I know my fans is fat I can’t even make fun of fat people no more. Don’t call me fatphobic y’all ’cause everyone made fun of my BBL [Brazilian butt lift] so don’t.”“I can body-shame people ’cause ya’ll body-shame me. If y’all body-shame me, I can body-shame y’all.”

“This is a body-shaming space. You can talk about my body and I’ll talk about yours, so if I call you fat it’s not a big deal.”

Her blunt words did not sit well with many people online, who quickly voiced their frustration and disappointment.“Damn. I really liked cardi b. As a 3x wearer this is extremely disappointing and upsetting. Cardi, comments like these are what normalize and embolden strangers to harass me online because of how I look. Unacceptable and hateful. Gross,” one unhappy Reddit user wrote.

Another chimed in: “Seeing how she talks about her fans with bodies like mine is disheartening tbh.”

A different commenter added: “I got 50 seconds into the clip and stopped it. If you think of me, as your fan, as a fat f**k, you aren’t getting my hard earned money.”“I liked a couple of her songs, aside from that she’s not my fav or anything but even if it was my favorite artist and I heard them talk that way, I’d wouldn’t spend a further dime on them.”

In response to the mounting criticism, Cardi B took to TikTok to make it clear she had no plans to apologize.

“It was an innocent joke between me and my fans… it’s not that serious,” she said.“Especially when it comes to me, I make fun of everybody. I don’t give a f**k if you’re fat, skinny, BBL down, got big feet, got small feet, whatever. As long as you don’t stink, I don’t give a damn.”

The rapper concluded by saying: “I’m not going to apologize because y’all are sensitive and wanna cry about some dumb s**t. Every day y’all wanna cry about some f**king dumb s**t.”
