Former First Lady Melania Trump is preparing a \$1 billion lawsuit against Hunter Biden, accusing him of making “false, disparaging, and defamatory” claims. Her legal team sent a formal letter to Biden’s attorney, demanding an immediate public retraction and apology. They argue his statements have caused “overwhelming financial and reputational harm” and warn that failure to comply will trigger litigation.
Hunter made the remarks during a recent interview with filmmaker Andrew Callaghan, where he alleged that Jeffrey Epstein had introduced Melania to Donald Trump and suggested unreleased documents could implicate the former president. The claims directly contradict the Trumps’ long-standing account of their relationship.
According to Melania, she met Donald in November 1998 at a Fashion Week party hosted by Italian entrepreneur Paolo Zampolli. Donald, recently separated from Marla Maples, asked for her number, and after returning from a Caribbean photo shoot, Melania agreed to a first date. Reflecting on their meeting, she once said, “I was struck by his energy. He has an amazing sense of vitality.”
Despite the legal warning, Hunter Biden has refused to retract his statements. Asked whether he would apologize, he responded defiantly, “That’s not going to happen.”
The lawsuit also highlights the role of media outlets in amplifying the claims. Hunter referenced journalist Michael Wolff and a Daily Beast article suggesting links between Epstein and the Trumps. Following legal pressure, the publication retracted the story and issued an apology.
While Donald Trump previously had a brief friendship with Epstein that ended in the early 2000s, no evidence suggests Epstein introduced him to Melania. With Hunter refusing to back down, a legal showdown now looms.
