Maxine Waters’ campaign has been hit with a $68,000 FEC fine after an investigation found it broke multiple election laws. Her committee admitted to accepting excessive donations, failing to report funds properly, and making illegal cash payments.
As part of the deal, the campaign must pay the fine and send its treasurer to FEC training. This comes after previous controversies, including her campaign paying her daughter nearly $200,000 for political work.
