Jennifer Aniston made a heartbreaking confession while opening up about her time filming Friends.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the actress said: “If Friends was the only thing on my résumé, I would be very happy and blessed.”
But it seems that Aniston and her co-stars foresaw a heartbreaking tragedy long before it occurred, admitting that they did ‘everything’ they could to stop it from happening.
Aniston, 56, starred as Rachel Green alongside Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, in the much-loved comedy TV series from September 1994 to May 2004.
And the two remained close in the years after Friends wrapped.
But Perry infamously died from a drug overdose in 2023, leaving family, friends, and fans alike completely heartbroken.
An investigation into the actor’s death led to five people being charged in relation to his overdose.

Drug dealer Jasveen Sangha is one of the five who U.S. officials say supplied ketamine to the Friends star, alongside two doctors.
Throughout his life, Perry was very open about his 30-year struggle with addiction, having visited rehab 15 times in his life.
But unlike those who only saw the star with his name in lights, Aniston, along with her co-stars in the sitcom, saw the tragedy coming.
She said: “We did everything we could when we could.
“But it almost felt like we’d been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight.”
Aniston added: “As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there’s a part of me that thinks this is better. I’m glad he’s out of that pain.”
Fans of the star have since reacted to her comments, as one on X (formerly Twitter) said: “It’s so touching to hear that the Friends cast were already supporting each other in such a profound way.
“Truly shows the depth of their bond. Sending love to them all as they continue healing.”

Another added: “Jennifer Aniston’s heartfelt words shed light on the deep struggles Matthew Perry faced long before his passing.
“Her honesty about the pain of watching someone battle addiction, and the relief that comes when that suffering ends, is truly moving and compassionate.”
Others noted that grief ‘often’ starts long before the final goodbye.
“I still have a hard time digesting Mathew’s death, can’t believe our Chandler’s gone,” a third noted.
“As a Friends fan, this has got me sobbing,” another said.
Two days after his passing, Friends lead cast members – Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer – issued a statement paying tribute to their late friend.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew,” they wrote.
“We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”
