The former American actress has introduced her new lifestyle show, “With Love, Megan.” To promote the project, she appeared as a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show in Manhattan. For her TV appearance, the Duchess of Sussex chose a white sleeveless top and cream-colored high-waisted palazzo pants. She accessorized with gold watches and several bracelets.
Drew Barrymore wore a white shirt and a chocolate-colored polka dot tie, paired with a brown tweed suit consisting of a vest and trousers. The star of Charlie’s Angels asked the former royal when the last time was that she felt surprised and happy. Megan shared that it happened during her trip to New York. Prince Harry organized a surprise for her so she wouldn’t feel lonely while away from her family, who stayed in Los Angeles.
“Last night and this morning when I returned to my hotel, there were flowers and a sweet card from my kids and husband that said, ‘We’re so proud of you, Mom, and congratulations on the show.’ And I just thought, ‘Well, here we go,’ and I felt so loved,” the Duchess of Sussex smiled.
The Suits actress appreciated the gesture from her 40-year-old husband. “He planned this in advance so that it would be there when I got to my hotel room. It was really sweet,” Megan said.
Megan shared a photo of the bouquet of roses on her social media. 5-year-old Prince Archie wrote his name on the card, while Prince Harry added the caption, “Lili and Dad.” In her conversation with Drew, Megan also mentioned that her children have picked up their father’s British accent, even though the family now lives in California.
“Oh, some words they still pronounce with a British accent, like they’ll say z-e-b-r-a. There are moments when it comes out, they say words that sound like their dad, and I think it’s adorable,” Megan noted.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child, Archie, was born in the UK. Archie was just over a year old when his parents stepped down from royal duties and moved first to Canada, and then to the US. Lilibet was born in Montecito, Santa Barbara, where the couple bought a home.
The wife of the disgraced prince also shared that she always reads her children a bedtime story, even when she’s apart from them. “Archie is five, and Lili is three. When I travel and can’t read them a bedtime story, I always take a thin book with me and record a video of myself reading it. So, Dad or whoever is with them can say, ‘Here’s mom reading you a bedtime story,’” Megan shared.
“You find ways to be close to each other. If that’s the only thing I can share through this show, I want people to know that you can be close to each other, because it feels so nice when someone is close to you,” Drew added.
