Luke died at home on August 2, surrounded by loved ones. In his final days, he was still doing what he had from the beginning—meeting fear with humor, telling his truth, and making the most of the time he had. Just weeks earlier, he’d joked to followers that he was still “alive and kicking,” a line that drew smiles through tears.
Luke first learned in August 2022 that he had stage-four leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that makes up only about 0.17 percent of diagnoses each year. Doctors gave him a year. Luke chose to fight.
He endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, each one a new climb. Even after being told last October that only months remained, he pushed forward—one day, one joke, one update at a time.
Through his YouTube channel, I Will Not Be Defeated, Luke invited the world into his battle. He shared the messy parts and the small wins, the dark nights and bright mornings. His refusal to let the disease define him made him a source of strength for many.
In Grimsby, he was known as a good man. Beyond Grimsby, he became a beacon—someone whose openness inspired and encouraged countless others.
Luke leaves behind his wife, Beckey; his mother, Lisa; his father, Brian; his adored daughters, including three-year-old Scarlett; and a wide circle of family and friends who will carry his memory forward.
